Many here feel that Superantispyware is superior to both Ad-Aware and Spybot Search and Destroy; perhaps it is. It is never harmful to have several programs for the spyware/malware stuff. I have these as well as Windows Defender. You are right about having only one anti-virus program, but in the spyware department, more is better. By the way, Avast is a great free anti-virus program, but don't run it along with McAfee.

yes superantispyware will get rid of it right away just go get the free version then after install hit update then full scan, making sure your C drive is selected for where to scan, once it is done let it clean anything it finds. Use it once a week by updating and doing full scan. SUPERAntiSpyware Never ever fall for that thing it is a scam and they want your credit card info.

cheryl if you want to try to make sure you are totally clean I can have you go to one of the pro security forums and we can help you there with some other special programs. We have had really good luck getting this wiped out. Recently this infection has added components including rootkits and you may have one of the latest versions. HijackThis Logs go there and start a new thread asking for help with the antivirus xp infection, tell Corrine I sent you. The team there work together to get you cleaned up.
