Low cost improvements = big impact

I would like to resurrect a past thread which resulted in a lot of great ideas. What low cost improvements or details did you do (or regretted not doing) that proved very convenient, time-saving, or were just great. Perhaps some of you have discovered more ideas - always looking for more!

I'll start - my DH installed electrical outlets under the eaves for holiday/patio lights. We keep the globe lights up all year - change the clear bulbs to colored bulbs during holidays (even red/white/blue for the 4th). He also installed a wireless switch with remote so we could turn them on from inside.

We installed an electrical outlet on the wall to the side of the toilet. Great for plugging in a fan or heater. In fact, my DH always believed in running more wire than what may be needed.

Looking forward to everyone's responses!
