Java 6 Update 13 Question

Hi Everyone,

IE 7 but mostly FF 3.05 MS Xp

Notified that a Java 6 Update 13 is available, I currently have Java 6 Update 11. Is this new update compatible with what I am running? If it is, would I need to uninstall the old one first? Thank you.

Install update 13, it should auto uninstall the old 6 update 11.

Check the add/remove programs list you should only see 6 update 13 any older ones remove them yourself.. through the add/remove programs.

Now this was really strange. When I clicked on the task bar near the clock to download the update, well it wouldn't I got a msg something to the effect that Windows wouldn't download or install it because it wasn't a valid signature. So what's that about, where did it go? I looked in add/remove and my version 6 update 11 is there. The update notification is no longer around. Strange.

Chris - ROFL! Yes, it's definitely still a mystery plant. I didn't realize Iris bloomed so early, either. I just can't get over the pictures of them (thanks Tammy). I think I would remember that kind of a bloom from last year. I don't know... ANYWAYS, LOL! Anyone who wants the "Mystery" flowers, please, let me know! I have you down, Chris. I also have you down, Toni. I figure Kamil and Mark's helper still wouldn't mind them. Anyone else? I just went out to look at the bloom color. It's a dark purple, so no hint of blue. Here's some Iris that I don't have names for. If any of you do, I would appreciate knowing. This has a smaller than normal bloom although the scapes are the height of any TBI. This is not the true color of this iris. It is a deep rust red and it's scapes/blooms are just over the leaves.Making it much shorter than the TBI..I don't know much about Iris but I know this type must have it's own name...is it a Standard? a Border? any one want to guess what it is? This is a TBI and in the next picture you can see it's true color on the far right of the photo. I have no idea what this is but since many of my iris came from you, maybe someone will recognize it. This is a photo of the 3 unknowns above showing a more accurate depiction of their color and height in relation to each other. Debbie

Click start, control panel in there look for Java looks like a coffee cup double click it at the top you should see UPDATE, UNcheck any additional software it wants to down load give that a try.

Back again to report.

I double clicked on the coffee cup icon, the box that came up had tabs. General, Update, Java, Security and Advanced. I clicked on Update. It is set to notify me before install, there is a check mark next to check for updates automatically. When I clicked on the lower button to check for updates the msg read: You already have the latest Java (TM) Platform on this system. But the version is 6 Update 11 according to this info and what's in the add/remove section. I can't make sense of this. When I went to the Java site, there were so many different 6 Update 13 that I didn't do anything there. Should I just not worry about the strangeness of this whole matter, or should I be looking to get 6 Update 13 for my XP? Thank you.

Sapphires, use the first one under Windows (online). That is for XP and Vista and should work well for you. It's the one I used for my XP.
