That's the same site I was at earlier and I don't see an option to D/L a free version anymore.

left side of the page says, "Free Basic Protection"

Go to the site I linked and click the Get It Now button under the Free Basic Protection message on the left of the screen. That will take you to a second screen with the 3 AVG products. Scroll down the Free version on the left and click DOWNLOAD.

You can always use FileHippo as a portal for AVG. There is never any confusion or a problem there. They also, like so many other applications, provide links to prior versions.

damccoy, that's a neat website. I just downloaded the CCleaner. It removed 375 MB's of stuff. My computers usually run better if I don't mess with them, but that program is nice and easy.

Ccleaner is a very nice freebie to have. You might consider doing a defrag of your hard drive after running Ccleaner too.

Remember to use CC in its default settings only and consider not using the registry utility unless you are familiar with the registry entries themselves.

Also, let's not forget about error-checking.

My Computer>right click on C:/ drive>Properties>Tools tab>Error-Checking Check Now>check both boxes>Start>Yes>Reboot system

This maintenance service takes a while so don't plan on sitting and watching it. It appears in either a blue or black DOS-like screen so don't panic as to its appearance. It safe and hurts nothing.
