I have two fairly new 26ss Homelite Mighty Weed Trimmers. Both have less then two (2) hours of running time on them. On one the pull string wont return, it wonÂt start the engine. I tried rewinding the spring and the string at least 8 times and I still canÂt get this thing to work right. I am an automotive machinist of over 40 years I work with the smallest to the largest engines all day. I had several other Top Machinists in the shop take a look at it as well. The string wont return back to its original position after a load is applied to the engine. After the second pull it jams again. The only other option I can think of is to replace the starter pulley. But the trimmer is new right????? I paid $120.00 for the thing new, and spent about $400.00 in time trying to fix it. The other trimmer the muffler fell off after the third (3) usage

There are two sizes of the FS canning jar attachments. One is meant for regular mouth canning jars, and the other is for the larger mouth canning jars. Yes, they use the exact same lids used in home canning. The lids are placed on top of the jar, and the attachment is pushed down over it to make a seal between a rubber ring and the glass bead just below the threads of the jars. Once air is pulled out, and you pull off the vacuum hose from the attachment, a tiny 'slug' of air, blasts into the small vacuum hole and the lid is forced down onto the jar and seals it. You remove the attachement then and rinse off the jar if its wet. The seal is very strong and is usually far better than a regular canning process would do. As mentoned, The FS vacuum pump is NOT powerful enough to be safely used as an alternative to regular canning processing. Besides that, if the very small vacuum pump inside the FS gets any trace of moisture in it, it can cause damage to the FS machine. I use a much higher powered piston type vacuum pump and also have a water/moisture trap on the vacuum line. The pump I have quickly goes down to 30 inches, which is sufficient for a decent vacuum. I also vacuum seal dried herbs like dill weed. It remains very fragrent and bright green color, even after 2 years of storage.

When you say "your building won't allow a venthood", I think what is actually the rule is that your building won't allow you to exhaust to the outside. In other words, you CAN have a recirculating hood. It's not that the building rules are that you must have an OTR MW, but that you must not have something that needs to vent to the outside. My advice is to get a proper 36" hood over your 36" cooktop, and have the hood be a recirculating style hood. Especially given the powerful Wolf cooktop you are contemplating. The problem with any so-called "36" OTR MW", like the models Joboxes cited, is that (A) they are really 30" MW's with stuck-on "wings" to get them to be 36" wide, (B) consequently, they look ugly/strange, and (C) also consequently, you won't get any kind of exhaust function at all. Even a 30" MW over a 30" cooktop doesn't do much because there is very little capture area other than a couple of squares toward the back. And with the 36" OTR MW setup you are envisioning, you will get no exhaust over the front burners AND no exhaust over the sides. This setup would not be a good use of your money, throwing it away actually. You may as well spend that money elsewhere and just open a window to vent for all the help a 36" OTR MW over that Wolf cooktop is going to give you. There have been a number of discussions on this forum about recirculating hoods. You will be much happier, and it will look slick too. Really, if you are going to be spending all this money, plus the stress, of a kitchen re-do, you should not get a 36" OTR MW over that excellent Wolf cooktop. Peppi, I checked at Sam's a couple of months ago, they don't have any, just the bags, which come in a package of various sizes, most of which won't fit my little FoodSaver, which will ONLY take the 8 inch bags. I've never been in a Costco, the closest one is way on the south side of Grand Rapids, I might check it out someday but Sam's is about 30 miles closer... My nephew would like to have my little one to seal venison, so if I ever decide to try another one, I'll give mine to Philip in exchange for venison and get a different one. I did get an advertisement in the mail from FoodSaver, they're offering some sales and one has a lifetime warranty, so maybe. Eventually. After I get over the trauma of taking my handheld Fresh Saver and throwing it out the door in the general direction of the trash can. I missed and it hit the concrete. I left all the pieces there and just walked away. Later, as I was picking up the pieces for disposal, (don't you hate it when you have a tantrum and then have to clean up your own mess?) I told Elery that his was still in the basement. At that point he just shook his head and said he didn't need it, thanks. (grin) If I do get another one it'll have to take the bigger bags, I have 50 chickens in the freezer in gallon ziplocks because nothing really fits in those little 8 inch bags anyway and a whole 5 pound roasting chicken sure doesn't. I also would like to get one that doesn't require me to put the bag in the sealing portion, then push down on each side of the device, thus using both hands to just make it operate and leaving no hands to hold the bag where it belongs. I understand there are models that don't require three hands or two people... Annie
