David, I can't believe that! I talked to the gang (Sherry, Peppi, Annie) in Chicago yesterday and the said they were expecting snow. I really thought they were kidding.

Stinks doesn't it! That happened here year before last.
We have snow today too, but only about an inch or 2 and we didn't have red buds out and lilacs in bud.
But I guess that's mother nature's was of being sure we remember who's in charge....even to the shape of the trees.

Wow. Better you than me. I feel like we are safely past any winter weather, aaaalthough there have been a number of years when the daffodils were laid low by a late snowfall.

I lost a birch tree during an ice storm this year. Now that spring is here, I really miss it. I live on a corner and that tree provided some privacy.

David, I think Bradford Pears are such wimpy trees. I had one that blew over in a windstorm. I swear all it takes is some snow or ice or a strong wind -- I think even a very large bird! -- to break them or knock them off their feet entirely.

Still, your yard looks very pretty dressed in white. Today we are alll foggy. It's kind of nice on a lazy Sunday morning.

Aw gee, I'm sorry! But I do want to tell you how pretty your yard is looking, even under all that wet stuff!

Talked to my mom today, they got snow in Michigan last night. Don't get too comfortable Pam, something is headed our way, who knows what it will end up as--snow, ice, sleet, rain or all four! Probably just rain though, but when it rains here, it floods.

David your backyard looks so pretty! That redbud is gorgeous. Too bad about the weather!

Cathy, we never joke about snow at the end of March. It is no longer funny or pretty. We woke up to one inch that ended at two inched at noon today. The daffy's, lilacs and pansies are not amused.

It's dreary here but WARM out. Muggy is more like it. Flat hair, sweaty skin = makes Shaunie a dull girl.

I don't have any daffodils, pansies, not even anything green or a crocus out here yet, but I did feel sorry for all those little blue flowers Peppi had when they got all snowed on Sunday morning.

By the time I got back to Michigan it was snowing here too, but it was about 20F and we had wind gusts of 30 to 40 MPH. Sherry had that sloppy wet slush but I got the fine blowing snow that stings. It's still here but the wind has abated.

I didn't even have a sprig of green here so it's not really a problem except that I can't clean the barn until it isn't frozen anymore.

Wow! After I said we are safely past winter weather, we got a huge hail storm last night. It was like mothballs falling out of the sky for 15 minutes. It was pretty astounding. Of course, the temperature dropped dramatically, but things have warmed up now.

Like Lpink says -- don't count your chickens!

Yeah, I was laughing last night 'cause being from Michigan I just KNEW that as soon as you say winter is over, Mom Nature has other ideas! I don't celebrate spring until May! Old habits.

It's really bad weather everywhere isn't it. Here we are still having rain and we've put the heater on again tonight as it's been chilly all day.

Mainland Spain is still having SNOW and up in the northern mountain villages of Spain there are snowdrifts up to 6 feet high, which I just saw on the news tonight!

It's snowing in Valencia and another storm is coming to the Balearic Islands and the whole east of Spain.

Well, at least the photos are pretty David. I did see snow earlier this month when I went skiing. (For the last time due to various reasons.) But it was sunny.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for your trees and landscaping!

Thanks for the compliments on the backyard y'all. I've not done much but clean/trim up since the ice strom last year. I have plans but they will take a few years. The redbuds did survive as well as the other trees. Most all of my trees lost their main trunks half way up last year due to the ice. They look like fat big shrubs...lol. They will fill in from what I can tell if a few years. I think most of my shrubs should come back up....I knocked the snow off of them and tied some up this evening hoping they will stay up. The daffs have been up for several weeks already so they were done for the most part. Iris is fine and I'm sure it will still bloom.

Pam, those Bradford's are so weak like you said. I lost three last year with the ice. I think everyone and their brother planted them around here back in the early eighties. I have one left in my yard and won't replace any tree with that one...they are pretty though.

I was in a wait and see mode for my landscaping around the house after last years ice. This has me wanting to do the same again but I think I'm ready to start pulling, digging, and replacing some or most of it.

Gotta love Mother Nature.....wasn't there a butter commercial refering to her way back when??? I think it was for margarine....LOLOLOL!

David, your first picture looks exactly like it was a true black and white photo and you added color in just a couple of places. I'm with Shaun....I'd crop a little and frame or use it for a card. I'm glad your trees are okay from this storm.

I was considering moving back to the Panhandle, but I may have changed my mind, with the weather. A trip to OK early summer is planned though to see DU-DA (lol), so hope we can meet then.

Really nice landscape. BTW: was NC really that good or did OK just have an off night?
