How do I "call up" waiting installations?

My latest problem (small problem) is that Java has an update that pops up when I open my browser and am engaged in some activity I'd like not to interrupt. So I have been rejecting the request to install.

Worse yet, when I decide to let it install, hope in the background and not require a reboot, the install request goes away but the update isn't installed.

I'd like to pick a time to go to the waiting installations/updates and select one or more to run while I'm at the computer's location but not actively using the computer.

At the time you find convenient, uninstall Java. Then reinstall it (find the right page at java.com by googling Install Java).

If you can minimize the notification window, rather than close it, you can reopen it when you are ready. Or, if you reboot your computer, you can often get all the pending notifications to pop up.

SOL!...lol Doris you remind me so much of myself, except I tend to think it and you write it! he heee : ) I think 2 weeks is long enough to wait on an SASBE to arrive at your mail box. I agree with Doris, email them that they have a certain amount of time left (whatever you decide on), and if you don't receive their SASBE's by then, pass on the seeds to others. Posting this under your original thread is also a good idea in case people don't read their emails or they are sent to spam. You've hit all the bases. I guess if you are concerned about compaction, you could slowly add "layers" of soil back to the planting hole and compress the soil FIRMLY with your hands and water between each layer. With bare root, you need to insure that all of the roots are in VERY good contact with the soil. You don't have to be concerned about this with potted specimens because their roots are not cured and dried out. They are planted with the existing soil ball intact. If your soil is such that it is prone to compaction, then amendments to the backfill soil might be in order. Those are just my thoughts..... Kristi

Hi, thanks for writing. These three hydrangeas were sent as replacements for plants that died by a mail order catalog so I didn't actually order them & I can't remember what they were. I think they may be endless summers? Although somehow I thought the one in the front was a different variety. IS Endless Summer a dwarf hydrangea? Yes the coreopsis is in a northern exposure and doesn't get all that much sun. The coreopsis probably has a shorter bloom time than they should but they were there when we bought the house 10 years ago, and they are ok. Can Hydrangea be identified by foliage? I can take photos of them if that would help. Thanks again.

Thanks, I forgot to mention this is with Windows 8, but I am still operating like it is Windows 7.

I just rebooted the computer and haven't yet seen the Java update dialog box. I expect it up shortly.

There it is, it didn't offer the usual top right side choices for minimize and close, but it has a active link to set the time I want to make the update. I clicked that and was returned to this message box. I'll send and see if the install is hiding behind my browser page.
