Maximizing windows with Vista

I used to know how,and have tried several solutions from online. None work. The windows open smaller than I want and have to be maximized. How do I make them stick???

I usually just double click the uppermost top bar on the window.

Or you can right click it & choose maximize.

Still doesnt work. As soon as I close them,they open small again....

After much debate, I decided on XP because of software compatibility issues and information sharing between the new computer and the older XP. Both computers are used for work and must work together. I purchased the new computer to upgrade, down-the-line, to Vista. One problem I didn't consider was MS Office. The new machine was only sold with Office 07. The older machine has Office 03. All Word docs have to be saved at 03 docs on the new machine in order to be opened on the older machine. I guess it depends on what you use it for. I didn't have time to fool with getting Vista to work with what I need for work.

pretty much any and every window regardless of quality will have low-e and argon, so I would not use that as criteria. The performance ratings that are achieved by those and other features will be a bit more telling. U factor and air infiltration are two biggies... I dont have a huge problem with the Vista other than that it is pretty mediocre, just that you can typically find a better performer for a similar price. The Sunrise line is very good from the base unit "Sunrise" on up. The Essentials is a price point model that I'm not a fan of.

knowing which browser you are using would be very helpful if you are talking about browser windows??? or are you talking about any thing that you open in a window in vista?

How to Change the Default Open Window Size for a Shortcut in Vista

for most browsers if you use the cursor to drag the window out to the size you want it then close it using the file key and quit it will usually keep the size you created. It must be the only instance and window open in the browser.

Are you x-ing out from a full size screen or are you right-clicking on a collapsed Taskbar entry?
