How do I enlarge this thread when I come on here?

Hi,

I just had a new computer built and when I came on here I noticed the picture of the thread here is smaller and in the center of the page. How do I get the full page for this site? My laptop shows the full page but this desktop does not. How do I fix it? Thank you for your help on this.

Are you using the Metro UI in Windows 8, or are you using Win 7? I'm going to guess it's Win 8...but you didn't say so. Are you having a problem only with this site...or with other sites too?

If you zoom from the keyboard it's somewhat persistent. A zoom in either direction may most likely still be in effect the next time you visit a page.

If using Windows, CTRL + (plus) enlarges the page. CTRL - (minus) shrinks it. CTRL 0 (zero) should reset it to "normal", and F11 is a toggle to get rid of the header, menus, etc. Try it.

Option 1: On the page that lists all threads, scroll down to the bottom of the list and type your name in the "Search" box. (Use the Search box at the bottom of the list, not the top of the page) If you just want to search the Kitchens Forum, select the "This Forum" radio button (it should default to selected). If you want to search all iVillage/GardenWeb Forums, select the "Entire Site" radio button. Select the "Search" button The search results will include all threads you started, posted on, or are mentioned. If you selected "This Forum", only the three Kitchens Forum sites will be searched (three sites: Discussions, Conversations, Gallery) If you selected "Entire Site", all GardenWeb sites will be searched Notes: Only somewhat recent threads will be retrieved (last year or two, usually). If you're looking for a very old thread, see Option 2. iVillage/GardenWeb uses "indexes" for searches. However, they only refresh/update the indexes once every 24 hours (sometime overnight). This means that you will not be able to find threads started today - you will need to wait until the next index refresh/update is run. However, Google is refreshed continually, so use Option 2 if you're looking for a thread started today. Option 2: Go to Google.com (or other search engine) and type the following in the search box: newdad site:ths.gardenweb.com The results will be similar to "Entire Site" from Option 1 but will include cached versions of old threads. Are there pictures of this so I can see what you crazy people are doing? We don't have a picture gallery for this forum, and Gardenweb asks that we avoid linking to other sites in the FAQ that might go dormant later. However, search for "pictures" or "pics" in our forum, and see if any of the discussion threads have pictures included! We usually have at least a few.When should I plant...? Can I grow ...? What is this pest / disease / plant? These questions are best directed towards the regional forums or those about that type of plant. The FAQs in those other groups will often have the answers to these questions for you, and if not, gardeners in similar situations are in a better spot to help you out on issues not specific to raised beds and intensive planting. Try the Vegetable Gardening forum, the Organic Gardening forum, the various regional forums, the Pests forum, or your county extension service. You can find the list of all the GW forums here.How do I learn more?A web search for any of the following phrases should help you tremendously. Jane, If you go to the White Windows Icon in the Taskbar (Lower Left Corner) and Right Click, you'll get a list, Device Manager will be in that List (Control Panel will also be in this list). You could also just Left Click on the White Windows Icon and click in a Blank Space then just start typing Device Manager and a List should pop up with Device manager towards the top of the list You can also get to Control Panel using this method)! Device Manager can also be found by going into Control Panel and the Device Manager Icon will be there in Alphabetic Order. The Printer Information will be Listed in Control Panel in the Devices and Printers Icon! It doesn't show up in the This PC Area any longer! In the Lower Right corner you'll find the information Center Icon. This Icon will be all White if there is information to view. The printer information may have been listed under the Information Icon. You only need to Click on the Icon to View the available Information. Below is a Picture showing the Information Icon (circled in red).

azinoa, This is Windows 7 sorry I should have said so when I posted. It is only on this site.

cold Weather, I'm sorry to say that none of it worked. Just to let you know I am using Firefox and Windows 7. I first thought that this site had been changed on purpose since I haven't been here for awhile, but when I got on my laptop the page was showing a full screen. I am on my new desktop now.

If you are using Firefox install the FF ad on called No Squint, it can zoom the text and the full zoom level. I usually keep mine set at 115% for both. That little software sure helped me while going through cataract removal. You can also set the background color to something other than the blinding white.

Are you referring to the little red house cartoon? Do you have any slide bars at the bottom of the browser window?

Are you sure holding ctrl and tapping + or tapping - does nothing? On my FF I can use them to move the little house all over the screen when resizing the browser view.

Though a reset was previously referred through use of the keyboard, how about via the toolbar View>Zoom>Reset?

Hi DA, no I am not referring to the little red house cartoon. It's there and OK.

I do not have any slide bars below on this site. Also I lost the firefox icon on top of my firefox page so how do I get that back? Ugh I just created a mess.

Just to let you know that everything is fine. I do have the bottom slide bar and a side slide bar as well. Don't know what the problem was but it appears to be fixed now. Thanks to everyone who tried to help me, I really appreciate it a lot. Oh yes the page is like it is suppose to be too. Have a great day all.
