If you're still with me. I ran the REVO uninstaller. Went to Filehippo and downloaded the MBAM (before I restartd the computer, sorry). It restarted after download but now MBAm cannot be recognized in the folder. I get this message: The Name 'C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\MBAM.exe' specified in thetarget box is not valid. Make sure the path & file name are correct. The original MBAM icon on the desktop is there and it is also listed in the list of programs but none of these can be installed or run. Should I run REVO again, that would be my guess but I'm good at confusion, my best feature.

Spwareblaster would be fine to install and a good idea. Along with a program called Web of trust (Wot) These programs actually can prevent Malware from installing in the first place. Only run 1 Anti Virus Program. Only use 1 Firewall. And only 1 Active Spyware program, like Windows Denfender, in your case Kaspersky probably covers you as it would more then likely have spyware protection and a firewall included. Spywareblaster does not scan in the background so it will never interfere with any other active spyware programs running. You will need to up-date it manually, I check mine once a week. Malwarebytes free will also never interfere with other active scanners, it's called an on-Demand scanner and does not run in the background and does not prevent malware, it is generally used after the fact to remove malware. Malwarebytes is the first tool of choice to use when you think you may have an infection or just addware like myweb search, or the ask toolbar.

Hi Katlin It's time you move to a Malware removal forum. Running automated tools like that and hoping something sticks is not the best approach. You need to visit Landzdown forum. Post the required log files and then a determination of the infection is diagnosed, then the right tools will be used. I'm starting to get worried TDSS Killer is no toy, TDSS Killer is a rootkit scanner. Rootkit scanners have to be used with caution as they generate false positives. Okay.....I did both updates, and then I ran JavaRa and removed all old versions. But then I went to the Mozilla Plugin Check Page, and saw that it still listed my Java as old and outdated. So I said okay, and I clicked Update--whereupon we went through the installation process again. However, the previous time I selected the 64-bit version because that's what my computer is, and this time I chose the 32-bit version. Now Mozilla says all my plug-ins are current and secure. Of course, I still can't load MSNBC and assorted other sites with Firefox. :-/ Since we've made all these changes, do you think it would help if I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox?
