Zephyr vs. Vent-a-Hood
Comments (4)Hi gardnr, I remember reading a similar post a while back from GW. Or maybe it was Chowhound. Check out these links if you do not get any responses. Have you looked at ModernAire? I know they are pricey but they make an amazing product. Comments (5)I ended up with a white powder coated Ventahood. It is not a liner but a full hood. I wanted a white hood and had hoped for the option to have the underside stainless but they don't have that option any longer. The white is doing fine. The warming light assembly is stainless. My hood is not in an area where people would see the underside of it. If it ever gets really nasty we will just refinish it. If I were doing just a liner I would stick with stainless unless the underside of the hood would be in an area that was so visible it might clash with it's surroundings. But if you have other stainless elements in your kitchen pick the stainless for it's durability. The stainless liners are all stainless. The colored liners are painted steel. Thus the price difference. Nothing to wear out on the stainless....See MoreVent-a-Hood vs Zephyr
Comments (2)I discounted a Ventahood because of the recommended distance from the cooktop...way too low for me. After cabs above my peninsula and an over the range microwave for 35 years, I ddetest anything in front of my head in the kitchen....See MoreVent-a-hood vs Imperial range hood
Comments (2)There are more alternatives than one would have time to describe from scratch, but which might be ascertained by reviewing hood threads here. Requirements should be developed first, and candidate hoods selected second. As for these examples, neither of which I have owned and hence won't comment on specifically, and which may or may not meet requirements, a comparison would have to start with the respective devices' blowers' fan curves to see which has the most flow rate under the pressure loss conditions of the specific installation. In any case, if you want quiet, you want a silencer in the path between the hood and the blower....See Moreamcook
