I have no problem whatsoever after I first start my computer. My computer brings up our names, I click my name and it goes to the desk top. First I click up mail, and that takes a minute. Then I click on Internet Explorer, and that can take some time. (I think my computer automatically goes through a brief virus scan when I first click on I.E. Once my home page (Roses Forum) comes up, there are no more delays. I move from one forum to the next almost magically. My husband has zillions of I Tunes on our computer, and I think that is the cause of the initial delay. Why don't you call your provider, or ask on our Computer help Forum? I take that back. I just clicked on Preview Message, and stopped it at 30 seconds. I'll try again. Good luck Sammy

Berk, I am on dial-up and I am having the same issues. I recently started having them here and everywhere else I go. My Yahoo messenger tries and tries to log in, and finally announces that there is a problem, and I'm asked if I want to try again, and again, and again, until I finally just give up. I have 2 different dial-up ISPs (Long story), and they are both doing it. I log off, and keep trying until things get better...sometimes they do, and often they don't, until maybe hours later. Anywho...I really think the problem is with my phone line, as I have been having static on it intermittently lately. Attempting to open several pages at once (using Firefox) does sometimes help....but sometimes none of them will load...so it is log off time then. Have you noticed any phone line noise? Sue

First thing is check and see what all is running when the computer starts a lot of programs that do not need to start right off will be a major problem. Check by hitting control,alt,delete once and a screen comes up showing what programs are running and more important are the process's running. Before you stop anything stop by Black Viper's page and make sure it is sate to stop. then after stopping what programs you can reboot and it should be faster. Ya that'd be easy enough but I'm tired of messing with it. Still, the IE8 works beautifully with the firewalls ZA and OA disabled. There must be some interaction there planned or otherwise. I installed the SlimJIm Browser or whatever it is which looks like its just an IE8 clone sort of. Easier to configure. Tho it's fast it is 1-2 seconds slower than FF7, Iron and google on my comp.
