David just called, he wanted me to share with you all that he has had some tragedy in his circle of friends. He will be tied up for a short while and didn't want anyone to think he was blowing off his gambling obligations.

Of course, I assured him that that wouldn't be the case. Keep David in your thoughts. He will join us when he can.

Those huge parking lots paved over with concrete or asphalt and so much driving to get anywhere now because it's all spread out and much of it major ugly imo only, now much abandoned and left urban decay behind because business would be better somewhere else, plus most or all of it can be expensed off of income for business. But I'm not against all corporations because I don't perceive everything as corporate greed or evil, some, yes. But with all due respect, I believe banning personal ownership of cars is too extreme. I don't feel like I hog more than my share of the world's resources with my old, small car which I drive very seldom. I cherish the right to own one car at a time of my own and love the freedom it gives me even though I'm aware of the risks and downside. What I cherish for myself, I could not be complicit in imposing on others (sure feel like it sometimes with crooks, drug runners, speeders, drunk drivers, maniacs on the roads and too many semis and large vehicles now). The interstate system was supposed to be safer we were told, and indeed it seemed to be in the beginning, liked the older roads but felt safer on the uglier, not-very-scenic interstates and freeways. Not any more. The little people would be the first to lose their rights and not only if cars were banned.

Brenda, I'm sorry to hear about your SIL. It must be a very difficult time for you and your family. It sound like Davids fantastic box put a smile on your face though. I do agree with Terri that the bowl is gorgeous. It would look great on my counter too. I've always wanted one of Nick Malgieri's books. I can't wait to hear about it. Stacy, this chicken dish is really good and is only about 30 minutes from start to serve. You could serve it over rice or orzo that you prepare in advance and just warm up. Creamy Tarragon Chicken From Fresh Market-Grand Rapids, MI 4 boneless, chicken breast halves Salt & pepper to taste 3T all purpose flour 2T olive oil 1T onion, finely chopped 1/4 c white Bordeaux wine (you could use any white wine) 1T fresh tarragon, chopped 1/4 c chicken broth 3T butter 1/4 c heavy cream Season the chicken breasts with salt & pepper, dredge in flour. Set aside chicken and remaining flour. In large sauté pan, heat olive oil over mediumh igh heat. Brown the chicken 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown. Set aside and keep warm. Add onion to pan and cook 1 minute. Pour wine into pan and increase heat to high. Deglaze pan by cooking until almost all the liquid has evaporated, stirring to loosen browned bits on bottom of pan. Reduce heat to medium low and add reserved flour, stirring to form a thick roux. Stir in tarragon and broth. Return chicken to pan and cook until chicken is cooked through and juices run clear, about 10 minutes. Remove chicken to plates, add butter and cram to pan and heat through. Spoon sauce over chicken and serve. Joe's Seafood lasagne is rich, and super elegant. You can use any combination of seafood you like, really, and it can be made ahead. WHITE WINE SEAFOOD LASAGNA Makes 6 good portions; 8 for the smaller ones 2 pounds bay scallops 1/3 cup butter 1 cup green onion \-\- chopped 1 clove garlic \-\- minced 1/4 teaspoon thyme \-\- dried 1/3 cup all\-purpose flour 1 cup chicken broth \-\- regular strength 1 cup whipping cream 1/2 cup dry white wine 8 ounces lasagna noodles 1/2 pound crab meat \-\- cooked, shredded 1/2 pound swiss cheese \-\- shredded Rinse scallops well and drain; if using regular scallops, cut into 1/2\-inch pieces. Melt 1 tablespoon of the butter in a 12\- to 14\-inch frying pan. Add onion, garlic, and thyme; stir on medium\-high heat for 1 minute. Add scallops and cook, stirring often, until they are opaque in the center (cut to test), 2 to 3 minutes. Remove from heat and pour scallops into a large strainer positioned over a bowl; let drain 20 to 30 minutes. In the same frying pan, melt remaining butter on medium heat. Add flour and stir until it turns a light golden color. Remove from heat and smoothly mix in broth, cream, and wine. Return to high heat and bring to a boil, stirring. Set aside. Fill a 4 to 5\-quart pan 3/4 full with water and bring to boiling over high heat. Add lasagna noodles and boil, uncovered, until tender to bite, about 10 minutes; drain. Rinse lasagna with cold water until cool; drain again and set aside. Pour scallop juices into a 1\- to 1\-1/2\-quart pan and boil on high heat, uncovered, until reduced to about 2 tablespoons; stir near the end to keep juices from scorching. Mix juices and crab meat with cream sauce. Line the bottom of a 9\- by 12\-inch buttered baking pan or dish with 1/3 of the lasagna noodles. Spread noodles with 1/3 of the sauce, top with 1/3 of the scallops, then with 1/3 of the cheese. Repeat layers twice more, ending with cheese on top. Cover pan with a lid or foil; if made ahead, chill up to one day, then bring to room temperature. Bake lasagna in a 350 F oven for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake until cheese is golden, about 20 minutes longer. Let stand 15 minutes before cutting; lift out portions with a wide spatula. Makes 12 servings as a first course, 6 as an entree. I like to give gift cards to a restaurant someone wouldn't normally frequent~McCormick & Schmidt, Roy's, even the Cheesecake Factory. It's not only an occasion for a sumptuous dinner but a chance to dress up a little nicer than usual. Make sure it's large enough to include a house wine or a couple of drinks. Make sure she has an escort. Book a facial at an upscale spa, usually a cost of $125-$200, depending on the city as well as the type of facial. Make sure you accompany her~it's no fun going alone. A movie and dinner. It's that special time just for the two of you. A 'date' for a limo and a winery~'nuf said. This can be a gift from several people, maybe two children/spouses. For Mom/Dad, one OR the other. Make it a Sunday afternoon, it's more quiet. I'm sorry if you don't have a winery near you. ;o)

All y'all are to funny. Yes that would be eighties hair....I could do that Flock of Seagulls look if any of you remember that...LOL. Before that was a Peter Frampton fro... Prince, Jackson, and Madonna ruled the day and the clubs....yes I was a club kid back in the day.

As far as a current pic goes I didn't think they even still made Speedos.....unless you were swimming in the Olympics...and there is no way in ___ you would see me in one today.....I guess one of y'all had another idea...ROFLMAO!!!!!

David, I've been laughing outloud at your Speedo self portrait! Reminds me of how people used to wear gym shorts over their jogging pants in the 70's.

As a new CF member this will be a lesson to me to be VERY careful about engaging in bets with this group!!!

Okay Cathy....I'll wear that Speedo if you wear a cheerleader uniform again....current hem lines included..LOL! You, Shaun, and EJ were the first that came to mind when I received that package..LOL!!

Sorry for those that missed the pics but I deleted them from picture trail and the computers at work....I guess some have saved them...I was clueless that you could do that!
