can't download youtube video clips

Up until yesterday evening I was able to download video clips from youtube by way of three downloading programs.

YouTube Downloader

save2pc Light

xVideoServiceThief

Two of the programs give a "no flash video found" message.

The other gives an error message xxx.

Thinking it may be an IE prob., I installed Fire Fox browser but this didn't help.

Any suggestions?

do you have the latest flash updates? I would go to the flash website and check to see if you need an update. You will need to do it for each browser.

do you have anything set to block flash?
you could just do a system restore back to the day it was working properly see if something might have changed your settings.

If you have the latest flash player (or even if you don't) you may want to try this: put abc between www. and youtube in the URL in the address bar of the video clip. Hit the enter key and it will take you to a page where you have a choice of what format you want to use to download it.

I've had the best luck in the late summer/ fall. However, then you have to find a place to store your roses until spring. I kept mine under lights. If anyone wants to trade rooted cuttings, let me know! I like multi colored, striped, and old English type roses.

Audacity records digital audio information. If you're recording a sound sourced from a record, with the sound source connected to a PC, it's gone through a A to D conversion. Which is what my first comment today mentioned as a factor limiting quality. PC level sound converters are of low quality generally. A really good one all by itself costs hundreds and hundreds of dollars. Whether a sound is stored in analog form or in consumer digital source, at the point where it's inside a PC and "recordable", it's digital. Digital is digital, the original source doesn't matter as far as ways to record it. When you say "OP", are you talking about the conversation above from many years back? PS - there's nothing at all wrong with sound stored in digital form, per se. Most modern musical sound recordings are stored in that way. But at the recording studio level, the sound is lossless and is at VERY high bitrates and VERY high sample rates, much higher in both regards than anything available or playable at a consumer level. Playback of such recordings over appropriate equipment sounds nearly exactly the same as the sound was live.

I wouldn't use the word "transfer" to describe the process, but the answer to your question is Yes. Using MP3tag (which is quite easy), you either direct the program to the sound file folder, or drag the sound file from an Explore window to the MP3tag window. The tag fields will be visible, complete the fields (or add new ones) as you wish, then save. The updated info will be in the sound file, the sound file doesn't move anywhere. When you then open the sound file with whatever player software you use, the tag data will be visible. Normally, the tag data is already completed when you buy music from places like itunes store or Amazon, or the information gets filled in when a CD is ripped. Most of the ripping software, and indeed MP3tag, have look up features, meaning, when you rip a CD, it can identify what album it is coming from and automatically get complete tag info for each track from any of several internet sources. When dealing with individual tracks, I know of no look up approach to use. Although, maybe Music Brainz could help?

The abc trick hasn't worked for me the last 2 days...when I click to download the mp4, (or any files), the next page says "Sorry, the URL is not recognized.."

Anyone else having that problem?

the kick youtube one seems to work I just tried it. Instead of putting abc you put kick in the url right before youtube. Then when it opens at the kick page at the bottom of the video you click on Kick, it then has a bar at the top with the various types of download file options choose the one you want like mp4 then on the right click on the green go, then right click on the download button and choose save link as.

If for some reason you are only getting the embed link then on the youtube site at the top left corner of your video where you see the name of the video poster click that and go to their page and click on share and it will give you a url you can use. You should also be able to get a good clean url if you click on the share button directly below the video itself on the regular youtube page.

Kick isn't working work for me. I've followed each instruction and all I get is a link to the page.

Thanks everyone for your help and response.
I upgraded the YouTube Downloader prog to the latest version and it works fine now.

the other two programs listed in my original post still fail to work for me.

Also ABC will not work for me.
