Registry scan results.

When I scan with Norton one button check up (registry scan) I get 9 invalid short cuts problem ,fix and it comes back again. Question: Where can i find a LIST of these problems so that I may get them out of the registry. Pray for me! Grady

Norton has weak registry scan. Suggest others. Many free. My favorite is regseeker which has rather dense interface but is more thorough than most. Using it once a month typically flags dozens if not hundreds. First pass after I learned about it picked up over 1500 right after Norton (since deleted) found about 30. The difference in operation was instantly apparent.

Registries get clogged. Really do need something to clean it up once in a while. Something better than Norton IMHO.

PS...FWIW....registry issues are one reason I switched to iMac nine months ago. OS-X doesn't have a registry. No bug troubles either.

Real player is an Intrusive programs an usually runs on the pc getting realplayer up dates--The only thing this program does is play "Real Media files" so if you don't use it uninstall it.. You can remove 9.x Xp and vista can open Zip files you could uninstall win zip, if you find you need it later reinstall it. You could update apple quick time.

granniek, I was just helping someone elsewhere on another forum and found a link for the Adobe stand alone installer. Guess what the very first thing on the page displayed? Yep! You guessed it! Uniblu Registry Booster! Below that was a link that I thought was for the Adobe installer but as it began to install I noticed that it was not the Adobe that was installing, it was the Uniblu Registry Booster. Those sites really push the ads for registry cleaners and I believe that you may not even have installed the Photo Editing program at all. Look in your Add/Remove programs or Programs and Features list to see if it is there. But yes, if you are experiencing a slow down on your computer, have Corrine help you. I can help to an extent by having you run a few scans and posting a log but if any malware is found at all I'd have to send you to Corrine due to the fact that while I'm in training for the removal of malware I can not help those infected. Kat that is such wonderful news. I hope you manage to lose the weight....I admit that my weight gain is still hanging around but last night I had a talk with myself about it....I am going to continue my good thoughts for you and the rest of our survivors here and hope and pray that you all will do the same for me.........We may not beat this beast, but lets hope we can live with it in check long enough for something else to get it...You rock my friend.

If you use RegSeeker and have the same results that I had you will need a lot of prays for you. The only thing that saved me was I had a Backup of everything on my computer.
I now use ccleaner to clean my registry and what it misses I don't worry about.
In the past I tried Regseeker after 2 different Installs
and use. I had trouble both times.

Sorry for your trouble. Regseeker has always been good to me. Do know registries can be mine-fields. Also aware there are other registry cleaners that others prefer.

So far it's a tie. Oh well. I use "CC" every once in awhile. Appreciate the replies. I may switch to DewBerry.
