Can I use pendant or mini pendant in bathroom

In my bath vanity area I have lights hanging down in front of my mirrors. One light in front of each mirror That is all the lighting I have. I would love to use regular or mini pendant lights but am afraid there would not be enough light to see adequately. Anybody just use regular sized pendant or mini pendants and no other lights. I have double sinks and double mirrors. Thanks

We had 80's style ceiling mounted lights above our vanities in most of the baths in our home. During our remodel, we are rerouting the wiring to put in traditional wall-mounted light fixtures. The reroute is really no big deal, wiring wise. It is a bit tricky to match some ceiling textures for the patching that needs to be done, though.

In the rooms with little lighting, I look for light bars that can take a high wattage and it has really brightened up the rooms.

There are restrictions regarding hanging lights over water. I know that where I live, a pendant light would not pass code over a tub, but I'm not sure about over a sink.

Anyway, just thought I would chime in. Hope you get more responses.

Maybe I can reroute the wiring. Would leave a hole in the ceiling but just a small one. I have seen some really nice 3 light wall mounted fixtures. I would like light bars with high voltage also

Check out WAC and buy the shades you like at the same time. They have plenty of fixtures which use a variety of shades. Manufacturers will frequently change the specs of a fixture or discontinue the fixture without notice. It would be much easier on you to buy the replacement shades at the same time as the fixtures.

I told the saleschild at the local distributor that I'd had no problems with the one I bought from Modernica 15 years ago, and he tried to tell me that Modernica only made knock-offs. Rubbish. Don't mess with me about MCM design history, kid. I know the history of that whole situation, and they made originals with original equipment which they bought from a manufacturer who went bankrupt. But HM, which operates the George Nelson Foundation, saw how popular the lights had become, and sued over licensing and won. Clearly I'm more than just a little ticked off. But I have asthma, and am also awaiting a test for potential cancer, so I don't fancy breathing in all kinds of nasty VOCs for weeks on end. Arghhhh!

Hi 1maps:) yes 26” diameter pendant bottom should not drop any lower than 7.5’...But I think any thing above that is more your choice visually.

We advice to leave 30 to 40 inches of space between the bottom of the pendant light when it’s hung up and the top of the bathroom vanity.
