opinion pls on grohe ladylux pro 32244

we have settled on this faucet - grohe ladylux pro 32-244 - it's not exactly traditional but it has a lot going for it. 1 hole, clean line, good arch on the neck and a pull-down spray which we determined would be good. we think it will look nice with a water tap also on the sink.

Anyone else have this and liked it? (or not liked it)?

Also...chrome or stainless. is it worth spending the $ for the stainless? I think not.

Beautiful faucet. I love it in chrome, modern but traditional, I guess that means transitional.

I have had a LadyLux Cafe in the past and can vouch for Grohe quality. No problems at all--well except my sprayer didn't stay on spray mode, which your new faucet will!

I think semi is thinking about the LadyLux Plus (spray mode) which is what I have. The pull-out spray head is wonderful and it has two settings...full stream or spray. The pressure is great, especially after removing the flow restrictor that is in the hand unit. I haven't used the Pro but you can be assured you will be getting a quality faucet.

I worked for Delta Faucets for a considerable time. Many plumbing stores and plumbers will have you believe their product is superior when, in fact, it is not. Big box stores buy in larger bulk at larger discount, thus the lower prices. Occasionally, some of these stores will have certain models made for them to sell exclusively. At Delta, the quality of those store exclusive faucets was the same, however, that may be different for other companies. When it comes to pullout and pulldown faucets, the large majority of the pullout wands are made of plastic. This is for a variety of reasons. Were it to be made of metal, in many cases, it would be too heavy to remain in place properly and there would be constant danger of it falling into the sink and damaging dishes, glassware and possibly the sink itself. Many faucets are now being constructed with PEX water lines and cartridge valves that translate to a lighter faucet in the box, but more durability in the long run. There are many things to consider and it can be awfully mind boggling to wade through them. I would call the company and ask why their product is superior. Why should I choose your product? Trust me, as a former customer service representative, this will pull the rug from beneath the person on the phone and you will usually get an honest answer. The one thing that I rarely pay attention to-----online reviews. Most people have nothing to say unless it is something bad and when it comes to faucets, you would be surprised how many common issues are caused by installation error.

I have the Kohler Fairfax pull out faucet on my prep sink and it's great! It pulls out & reseats itself smoothly, it does have the rubber knob, but it works very well. It pulls out far enough to reach a stock pot on the counter for filling AND for the 5-gallon bucket for the fish tank! I have no regrets and would put it in again if I had it to do over! [I also have the Kohler Vinnata on my main sink...but it's a pull down as opposed to a pull out faucet. I really like that one as well....I like that I can twist the head slightly to redirect the stream while it's still seated. I also like twisting the whole faucet so it's over a measuring cup or stock pot on the counter for measuring or filling and, like the Fairfax, the pull down action is very smooth and the faucet head is easily reseated.] HTH!

No, I have not decided! I thought that we'd be installing cabinets this weekend, which would mean granite soon, which means need a faucet SOON, but since the cabinets are delayed till at least next weekend, I am still hemming and hawing over the faucets. I have not heard of Rubinet, but i feel your pain! I searched here for EVERY faucet brand that was at least sort of well regarded, then looked online at EVERY single-hole faucets by each brand, and made charts of the ones I liked!! I only avoided brands I did not recognize since I already had so many to choose from. I *think* it is gonna be the Hansgrohe Allegro Gourmet, but I think I'll pull out my sink and make some sort of cardboard model to make sure that it wont be too huge. Who'd have thought...... :)

nosoccermom Joyou AG is indeed bankrupt and has filed for the insolvency in Hamburg as of May 2015 . It will undoubtedly be reorganized minus about $300 million in debt at some time in the future. At about the same time, Grohe closed its Canadian faucet plant and trucked all of its machinery to an abandoned American Standard factory in Monterrey, Mexico where it is setting up shop. American standard pulled out in 2014 and moved that production to China. These two events are probably going to result in a short supply of Grohe mid-price and economy faucets for a time. Portugal does not appear to be a major source for Grohe faucets sold in North America. Grohe's designer faucets and faucets with special finishes are made in Lahr, Germany. Grohe's mid-priced and economy lines for North America are made in Thailand, China and Mexico. Grohe makes the same faucets in several places, so it's a crap shoot where a non-designer Grohe faucet is made. Look for "Made in ???" on the box.

I put the prep sink version of this same faucet on my prep sink and LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE it! (Can I make this clearer?) I love the way you don't have to actually pull the head out. Just grab it and angle it wherever you like. I'm really sorry I didn't put the main sink version on my main sink. Instead I put the pull out version. It's awkward by comparison. The really why I did the pull out on the main is because I wanted them similar but not to match exactly.

Don't worry about the chrome looking spotty. You can wipe the dry spots off with a dry tissue - it's that easy to clean and the chrome finish is much less expensive and I suspect will wear better than the more expensive options.

fetusbodine: can you be very clear...which one has the angle spray that is not a pull-out? my husband would be happier with that setup. when we went to the store to look at the floor models, all of the pull-outs made noise when you actually pulled them otu and some of them were hanging and didn't actually fit back into their proper place - he's worried this would happen with ours. feels the pull-out is just an opportunity for it to break. a spray that can be directed would be optimum for us. is yours the ladylux plus?

we now find ourselves looking at this franke farmhouse - still single stem. i cannot find it in a showroom tho...which is driving me nuts. the franke lady said we don't have to use it as a pullout but the spray button will toggle and stay on whatever we toggle and swivle. hmmmmm

I strongly urge you to contact Grohe customer service to get the hard and fast details. They can explain what "locking" and "pull-down" means.

Regarding the Plus, it locks perfectly back into place, but it does make a little noise when you pull out the metal hose. That has never bothered me at all.
