Does anyone have this oven? It looks like it is 3 or 4 inches shorter in height than the 30" wall oven. Since I can't find a 36" induction range, I am considering putting a 36" induction cooktop and this 36" wide Wolf oven underneath it. Would that work? I read that it is not good ergonomically to do this because the oven will be very low, but if this Wolf oven is shorter in height would that help a bit? As in it could be installed a few inches higher off the floor than the 30" one? If I could get a 36" induction range I would not have to consider this alternative. I could do a 36" duel fuel range instead, but I wanted to change to induction over gas. Related to this question - are any companies making/going to make a 36" induction range? I really need the extra room on the cooktop part.

I myself have no experience with induction but maybe I can save you some time by saying at least 99% of the induction fans here will say go all out not hybrid. I have been drawn to GE Profile/Monogram even though there have been both positive and negative comments here. Good power and manufacturer-approved ovens underneath at reasonable prices. Whatever combination you decide on make sure the manufacturer(s) approve the setup for warranty purposes.

Babs, I share your frustration! I have a Maytag Gemini and use both ovens frequently and also love having the option of using a smaller oven to save energy. I am also planning on a 36" induction cooktop but am having trouble figuring out how to fit double ovens in my smallish kitchen. I wish there was a reasonably priced 36" induction range. (I'm currently drooling over that 36" Diva, but when it says to call for pricing I know that means it's out of my price range.) Here are some of the options I've come up with; maybe one of them will help you. (BTW, I have no idea which one I'm going to use, but I don't think we'll be doing our reno for a couple of years due to finances.) 1) Put in 1 standard built-in oven either under the cooktop or on refrig wall. For second oven, use Breville oven. Problem with this is the Breville can't be built-in and I really don't want it on the counter (I would get the bigger one). If this could be built-in below a counter, I think this would be the perfect economical option. 2) Second oven would be a speed oven of some sort (Electrolux, Miele, Advantium, etc.). This is a significantly more expensive option than #1, but it would be built-in which is a plus. In order to do this one, I would have to move the doorway to my dining room so I could take advantage of about 2 more feet of wall space. If you put your main oven below your cooktop, maybe you could fit a speed oven under the counter somewhere else in your kitchen. #3. Sharp SuperSteam Oven. It can be on counter or built-in. It's a steam, convection, and MW. I was thinking I could put this on a shelf over my counter. I think there may be 36" Induction ranges available in a few years, but that doesn't help anyone doing their reno now. It's hard to work 2 ovens into a small kitchen, but it can be done. It suddenly occurred to me about a month ago that if I moved the doorway to my dining room, I'd get rid of a blind corner and gain about 2 feet of wall space which might, just might, give me enough space to fit stacked double ovens. I have a 36" cooktop over a 27" oven. The oven isn't actually in a cabinet proper: it sits on the plywood base built by my GC for all the cabinets, and then he created a face panel, with the appropriate size hole for the oven, and had it sprayed to match my cabinets. There's a fair bit of panel on either side of the oven, but I really don't mind: I didn't want those spice pull-outs, and wondered about making a couple of 3" tray slots, but realised the space needed internally for the hinges would make it pretty awkward to use, and I decided that offsetting the oven and getting 6" for a cabinet would look strange (in MY kitchen - that's a personal thing). So, I'm happy with my panels. I got my tray cabinet in another place in the end. I think you have to decide for yourself whether you want/need symmetry on that wall, or whether you can live without using that space for anything. In my case, it also means any subsequent owner can opt for a larger oven if they want to.
