How do you use the inside of your cabinet doors?
Comments (5)The command clear hooks were the best bet for my original project. Here's a pic: And here you can see the open drawer MW with the easily accessible lids. Then because I had extra hooks, I put some on the seldom opened corner susan doors. Saved a whole drawer's worth of space! I hadn't seen the command clear hooks before this project. Once again, thanks GW!...See MoreIf you've painted your kitchen cabinets, but not the inside of it
Comments (6)I painted my dark cab:nets BM White Dove. I painted the backside of the doors, but did not paint the inside of the cab:net boxes. I'm satisfied with how they came out ~ or I was. I've had them for 7-8 years and they are looking pretty banged up so I'm ordering new cabs in the next week or so. My SIL painted her cabs and didn't do the back of the doors and I think that is a mistake, but I would not take the time to paint the inside of the boxes, I doubt anyone will notice....See MoreShow me the inside of your cabinets
Comments (6)Thanks Kent. One of our cabinet subs we are getting bids from provides particle board shelving that has no veneer. It sounds U-G-L-Y and I'm wanting to see if anyone has something similar. My current shelving is KM---particle board but with a maple-look laminate veneer...See MoreDo your cabinets look cheap inside??
Comments (17)No, I'm the same person saying good things about Conestoga for the umpteenth time. But seriously, I think there are three of us "cheerleaders" here at GW. They have cheaper (all-particleboard) options, too, but all of the desirable upgrades are possible. Conestoga is ordered through an agent via email, but is shipped from the factory. I think they have a couple of factories, but the nearest one to me was very close indeed. I had nine pallets of "stuff" in my order (99 boxes) so they shipped it all on their own tractor-trailer and at no charge! They don't do this for small orders; some other stuff I got from them for other jobs is UPS/Fedex. The other upside is, if you order unfinished, it will ship in about two weeks! I don't know how the price would exactly compare. I priced my kitchen in Omega custom, and they said $45,000. I tweaked the design to conform with what Conestoga sold, and the cabinet kits were $13,000. I figure I saved some money even though the design was altered somewhat, and no direct comparo was possible. Plus, the finishing process was for me time-consuming, and the assembly tedious, and you have to factor in the $1,600 worth of hinges, knobs, and drawer slides. I saved more by buying some of the moldings from a nearby mill. Conestoga was still charging a fortune for the beadboard molding, like twice as much as I had it made for at the Mennonite mill. So I scrimped and saved everywhere I could. One last caveat; when you place the order, it's final, and you own it. Any mis-ordering is your responsibility, so you have to be sure your design was correct. There is minimal "design service" available. Replacements are made for defective parts. Casey...See Moresue36
