Comments (12)Yes, plumorchard, I did post that the default mode for the Electrolux is micro mode. If you just enter a time, and push start it microwaves. To use as an oven, you have bake, roast, grill, convection and preheat buttons, sorry no "Broil" button as Antss pointed out, while the oven does have a top heating element the element is above a stainless steel cover which has many slots/holes to allow the heat to reach whatever is being cooked, but would probably not allow enough heat thru to allow for good broiling--so we "Chalk one up here for the miele as I guess it broils? Toasts, meats whatever do get a nice color to them thou from the above burner. The Electrolux also has side burner/burners as well as the burner for the convection fan, in lieu of the bottom burner that the Miele uses. Max temp for the Electrolux is 450F. You have 2 speed cook options one button is "Basic Cook", You press that and each time it selects different things you may be speed cooking-----Meats, Poultry, Fish, Casseroles, Pies, desserts---etc. The other speed cook option is "Recipes" where it has 134 built in. You also have different buttons for microwave (If you want to use them)--You dont have too. The buttons are Reheat, Popcorn, Cook and defrost. In defrost it even tells you to "break up the meat" turn it over, etc etc. The display is blacked out, except for a small white digital clock, until you put your hand or finger up to the wavetouch panel. Then all the buttons light up in blue, until you enter a time, or select any other button, Then Start lights up Green and Cancel lites up in Red. The display goes blank after about a minute if you don't enter anything. Again as Mojavean mentioned, this is a 240 volt appliance, which any speed oven would have to be to be a "serious Oven". That potatoe race sounds like fun, Mojavean, The Vikings versus the Germans!!!!! The race is on, just let me know when and we should try to do about the same size tater---Ya Think?? Comments (11)I have a Wolf range I purchased 5 years ago, and the operating instructions were adamant about not using liners or aluminum foil in the oven. Check your instructions for care of your oven, and if it's not clearly addressed, call Wolf and ask them. It would be a shame if your new oven were ruined by a product not cleared for use in the Wolf. I can tell you, after 5 years of cooking with my range, that the oven clean feature works wonderfully well, and has cleaned up that blue interior so it looks like new. Also, pay attention to wiping up spills soon after they occur, as that will help your oven stay clean too. Comments (3)I just checked my Electrolux Speed oven. It has Roast, Bake and Grill functions but no Broil. I think the only heating element in it is the one around the convection fan. There is NO broiler element above. It does a baked potato in about 7 mins---a large one, and I have done toast in it and it comes out great. Best thing to do is download the "Operators Manuals" for each Speed oven you are interested in. You can do this from the AJMadison Site. Comments (20)Both Wolf and Electrolux have issues with the blue porcelain. And its a really big oops on the Wolf. Electrolux seems to have resolved their issues with blue porcelain as there are not any complaints from recent ovens. Wolf still has ongoing issues, but the repair will now be easier with the bottom as a separate piece. Search blue porcelain in this forum to read about this. Looking at cubic feet or even the depth and width of the oven can be misleading. In looking at oven size, measure the rack to see what the usable space would be and then see how your pans will fit. Look at how the convection fan takes up space in the oven. Some have the fan sticking out into the oven cavity, which might allow for a handle of a pan to hang over a rack edge. Others place a wall across the front of the fan so they can say the back of the oven is flat. Some examples Wolf Electrolux The new Wolf ovens seem to be blue. Different fans! Wolf M series illustration Wolf M series photo Also look at where the racks are and how they can be used. On Elux, at least mine, the rolling rack cannot be put on the lowest position. The regular rack can be placed there. The best feature of the Wolf is the dual fans/elements. I think that is more significant in the 36 inch width though.
