Saw this in Pottery Barn today

Just by chance, I had three branches sitting in the side yard and went home and duplicated PB's decoration.
They're simply a few bare branches wrapped in white lights.
The Santa picture, by the way, is a jigsaw puzzle my son assembled when he was about eight years old.

VERY COOL! and you just happened to have that great birch! are those branches or trunks? If they're branches, then your birch grows to a whole different level than it grows here! lol! Love the puzzle too. :)

Oh now...that looks really cool on the wall you had left...love the birch branches lit up! & so fitting to have the Santa puzzle hanging out for the Christmas holidays! Love it all, OA! Great work! Jeanne s.

None of the PBs I have been in have special items. Was it actually for sale and not just a decoration? PB does have ski artwork currently, such as the linked... was it from this series? Thank you all for figuring out what I meant, despite all the typos! Oh my goodness. I was rushing off to work and had to make a decision, but proofing would have been good. ;) I hadn't considered the base metal. With everyone so happy with their PB purchases, and the price difference, I just decided to order the whole thing from them. I didn't make any sacrifices on my kitchen when I did it. I knew it was important to me to get it "right" and paid the extra $100 here and extra $100 there etc to get exactly what I wanted. But I don't feel like when the bathroom is done I'll have the same attachment to it. I got my Bain Ultra tub, so I'll have my luxury. But it's not even the bathroom I use except for bathing. It's my daughters' and guests' bathroom. I mean, it'll be really nice. But I don't need to focus on the teeny details between two towel racks that would look identical to less obsessed people than we are iykwim. I could have found a brass base closer to the Top Knobs look, but really, am I going to notice once we start using it? They are really close. Of course, I'll post pictures. Walls go up tomorrow. Hopefully it won't be too long now. Can't wait until this is done and I can move on to the master. It's 42" wide by 108" long with a door at one end and a 34" x32" shower stall at the other, with the toilet right next to the shower. Oh and a large window centered on the wall opposite the wall where the (insult to cabinets even call them cabinets, builders would be embarrassed to use them) cabinets are. That should be fun for everyone thelp me figure out... if we even can. Thank you to Boston's crazy winter for the water damage. Should I be celebrating? ;)

I have not had great luck with their lamps. I have three of them and they each have some problem or other. I'd compare the quality to what you often see at Home Goods. Cute styles, but corners have been cut somewhere.

That sounds so funny, but I actually did "just happen" to have three birch limbs.
About a year ago, I saw a display that had birch limbs tied with heavy rope to the four corners of a boys bed. Then, LED string lights were strung from limb to limb, encircling the bed. Sort of made the bed look like it was a bunk at an outdoor camp.

I ordered the branches on line (very expensive) and some string LEDs that had the capability of dimming. It was a birthday present for my grandson. (He turned 8, and he still hated to go to sleep in the dark.)

At any rate, I had to order two bunches to make sure I got limbs tall enough. So, of course, there were limbs left over. I had no idea what to do with them, but they cost so much that I couldn't throw them out. So tha's the long story.HA!

O M G, OA, that's unreal! Who knew that people sold big branches on-line. lol! I'm glad you're getting more use from them! They appear to be in good shape. What is the approx. diameter? if they're large enough, you can remove the bark for weaving and other crafts. :O)

Nice!!! I love seeing new ideas. Sweet that you
still have that puzzle of Santa from years past. The
lighted poles and this picture are perfect for your
setting out there. Has DS seen this and does he
remember it?

This reminds me I still have some real birch logs
outside that I made DH save for me. I need to get
them in if there not already ruined.
