That Shiny Brite box looks familiar, I remember my mom having ornaments in those boxes!

And, the plates are all so pretty I love them all, can't pick a favorite! I just need one to stand up in the corner of my kitchen counter by the sink, think I'll stop in GW and see, never thought about them having one!

The little Nativity is lovely, and I really like the poinsettia arrangement and the 1980 plate...those are my favorites.
I'm trying to stay out of GW this week, but you made it even harder. LOL

Nice haul!!! I want that plate that says 'Christmas 1980' - I like the scenery on the plate but more importantly (to me, LOL) that was the year I was born. :)

So tell me something please? Will you use the plates with the date showing? Or will you put a sprig of greenery and a little bow over that part? I'm asking because I've passed up some pretty ones because the date didn't mean anything to me (like date of birth, etc.). Then it dawned on me that perhaps it could be "covered" Luvs

I LOVE browsing the Good Will or Salvation Army stores...don't know how old you are but if you are 55 or older, if you shop on Tuesdays at the Salvation Army stores, you get 50% off of everything...at least out here you do.

OK, that does it! I am making my daughter go to Goodwill with me today. With all the goodies that I see Garden members getting at the store, we could be missing for days in our local store! LOL

Oh what great purchases...The plates are beautiful.. and I love the Shiny Brites too...they bring back nice memories. I remember they would be wrapped in small squares of tissue paper in those boxes. I was at Good Will last month, and they always have great things that I can't believe, sell for so little..

I put four of the plates in a wall rack that hangs in the hallway between the kitchen and laundry room. I didn't really have a problem w/ the dates showing, but you have a great idea about adding greenery--it always adds a great touch. Also hanging on the plate rack are some hand made ornaments that my mom made several years ago. I may see if I have any extra garland or greenery to use. Thanks.

Oh, they look really great hanging on that wall rack. They are such pretty designs. The victorian people are my most fav, but the other three are also very pretty. What a nice place to be able to hang the ornaments your Mom made as well. They look great displayed just the way you have them--but a little greenery would look good with them too! Luvs

I met a friend for lunch and the GW was close by so I ran in quickly. Didn't find much, just a cute little plate, a christmas fabric tablecloth and a pretty nice wreath that I put out on my back patio--forgot to take a picture of it.

I tried the tablecloth on the table, but not really liking it--just too busy and none of my plates seem to look good on it. Oh well, it was on $1.99 so no big deal, right?

Yachter, if my pics won't get larger when they are clicked on, maybe you could perform your magic again on them please? Thanks.

Mommacass - love your Goodwill finds and the way you displayed the plates - I never pass up a chance to stop at Goodwill or Salvation Army ever since I joined this forum - you just never know what you will find there - somedays nothing and then BINGO - jackpot

You got some good stuff too! If you don't like the tablecloth on your table, can you use is elsewhere? Tree skirt, runner on a side table, cut up into napkins for example. Its too pretty to not use.

I love the way you displayed your plates and the ornie's are a nice touch too!!! Some greenery might be nice.

Yes Bright I did get it. I know about doing it one pic at a time that way, but I like being able to select several, then click on the "generate html and img code" button at the bottom of the page, then copy the first choice on the next page and post them all at once. I may try it the one at a time way and see if that will work for me until Photobucket support tells me they have the problem with the other way fixed. Mommacass, I was looking at your photos yet again and your little glass Nativity on the mirror really caught my attention this time. I just found a frosted glass Nativity set similar to yours at GW. In new condition, and the box says Neiman Marcus! I paid $3 for it. A mirror is the perfect idea for this little set.
By the way, YOU are the reason I stopped in there the other day and spent waaaaaaaaaay too much money on waaaaaaaaay too many things.

mommacass, I really like the plate rack you have your plates displayed on. And I love the little ornaments your mother made. Your display is pretty as is or like your's & Luvs' thoughts a little greenery added would be pretty too.

Luvs, I think you could use any solid color with your tablecloth. Mommacass' idea about cutting it up for napkins is a great idea too. It's too pretty to not find a use for. And the Christmas Love plate is pretty.

I am so impressed with your GW finds. Good for you. Your wall display is very nice, I like that alot. Putting a little greenry here and there on the wall rack would make it stand out so much more. I'm a stickler for adding greenery to everything at Christmas time.
