@walt2002, hey i was wondering if you were still here, i have read many of your replies and was hoping to hear from you and mownie, you 2 seem to have a wealth of knowledge on these things, i will try the carb first, because it is the easier than the head, but how would the carb cause fire to pop in the carb? im no genius but it seems compression is coming through the carb, and with the few parts in the carb, even no diaphragm, i cant under stand how it would be bad, do they have a ball and spring behind a welch plug like the old model walbro carbs?, i remember years ago when i worked on them a rule of thumb was if you shook them and heard no rattle they were no good, it had something to do with a barometric pressure adjuster valve, you didnt have to adjust the carb in higher locations as you did a b&s carb, just wondering, because i cleaned the carb twice, i put it in a bowl of water while disassembled and used a small straw to blow air through every hole, got bubbles on all, but i will swap them anyway and see, i just want to know what it is, thanks for your advice man

On mine (Craftsman LT2000, 18 hp, B&S 31C707 engine) the choke was stuck closed. Raising the choke control up closes the choke, but when the lever was moved down for mowing after warm up, the choke did not open. So it died, smoked, etc. Deciding not to push it open every time, and deciding adding a string control was silly, I added a 25 cent spring from Ace Hardware; there was already a hole in the top part of the choke butterfly shaft, so I drilled a small hole in the reddish plastic housing, and ran the spring to that, works great now. I had read about others shaving down the shaft to make its diameter slightly smaller, but I like my fix better.

I think the main printer - the first one I mentioned is working better. Perhaps I managed to "hit" the right button - at least for now. Thanks anyway. Bejay

My last two printers have been HP All In Ones...OfficeJet Pro 8500 and last week I bought the OfficeJet Pro 8625 (25 denotes Sam's Club. It's the same as the 8620). Right now it's connected wirelessly and it's a little slower than I expected but not a deal breaker. I'm wondering if I via connect usb or ethernet (cables included) if it would perform faster? I haven't really used it that much yet. The first thing it did (or didn't do) is not pick up photo paper. I read that a firmware update would fix that problem and it did. What I REALLY don't like about it is it has no manual paper feed. In ALL my previous HPs, I could manually "help" a page along or load more paper without taking the paper tray away from the printer. With this one, you can't have anything sitting in front of the paper tray because you have to slide the tray all the way out of the printer to load paper/change paper size. And forgot helping along a n occasional quirky piece of paper :( I guess I'll get used to it. The 4+" touch screen operates a lot smoother than I thought it would. Only requires a very light touch. This printer has it's own email address. You can send print jobs from anywhere you have an internet connection. I've not tried this. It's NFC compatible. I've printed a couple of 4x6 photos on HP Advanced Photo paper and several test sheets. Very pleased, as always,, with the HP quality. It does a LOT more than I'm sure I'll ever do with it. I paid $190ish at Sam's and $19 for a 3 year Square Trade warranty. ps...Amazon had it for $150 last week but that price is gone now.
