YES! The best part of building has officially started. We bought this TV for our great room today. And before anyone gets things started, we are not putting it over a fireplace :)ha ha

We're four weeks out and I finally get to start shopping...woot woot! This is a whole new level of excitement.

wow, charliedog, nice! I don't have any money left to go shopping. 8^( We're moving in next week or so. I'll get there, though. Already have plans to replace my sofa. Just plans at this stage. 8^)

Nice! I'm with susanka. Don't expect to have a cent left. Although I'm gonna comparison shop the TV. Maybe I'll just buy it instead of the triple windows in the Family Room.

Does anyone have a problem with smaller loads becoming unbalanced. I've owned the washer 2 weeks and have done approximately 15 loads and so far 2 have given me the uE error and extended the wash to rebalance the load. One load didn't recognize it was unbalanced but the tub was almost violently swaying side to side, the sheets were balled up on one side, and there wasn't enough water in there to move the clothes at all. This was only one set of queen sheets. I stopped the cycle, redistributed everything and the pressed the extra water button. It seemed a little better after this, but it's frustrating that I find myself needing to watch every load to make sure it's working properly. To me it seems the washer works better with larger loads, but does not work so well with smaller loads. Has anyone else come to this conclusion? Also, my washer has never had any jet spray action, where it's spinning very fast and the water is shooting from the top onto the clothes. Is this normal? Should I see this on every wash? Another issue I'm having is I was using powder detergent (only half of what is recommended by Tide on the box)...and after each wash cycle I stopped it and looked in the dispenser and over half of the detergent was still inside. This happened on every wash, cold, warm, hot, it didn't matter. I emailed LG and attached a picture and their response was to switch to liquid detergent. And my last question is, has anyone noticed the tub "creeking?" This started about 5 washes ago and it creeks like an old rocking chair. I can hear it from the next room with the door closed. I'm wondering if I need to have a service person come out.

lynn - My granite is Taj Mahal. Does Spectraloc grout resist stains more than a normal grout? corgimum - That's a very good question! I'm only going to replace the tile if I can find something I really like. I like the idea of having a bigger tile and I'm hoping to have smaller grout lines this time, but I think that depends on the tile I pick. I certainly don't hate my current tile, but it has a slight pink undertone I don't like. The sample I had was similar minus the pink tone. In person, its a much prettier tile than the one I have. I know the decision is ultimately mine, but both the tile guy and my mother didn't like the color, so that worries me. I found another one I like, but I couldn't tell enough about the color from the tiny samples, so he's going to get a full size tile for me to look at. nanj - Thanks for posting your picture, so I can be prepared for what might happen. The guy took his car keys and rubbed them across the wood floor I'm looking at to show me they shouldn't scratch, because of the protective coating. Is that a good test? Is it a gimmick to make me think they're more bullet proof than they really are?

Chicagoans, your egg story is as funny as Marcolo's pie weights! (My own ketchup story is just sad, not funny.) YELLOW, The patio is AWESOME! Are you planning to cover the entire surface or just the "path"? We, too, have a lot of leftover floor tiles and this would be a FAB way to use them. Are you a Texas girl? I'm only asking because our local contractor said we should use porcelain tiles on our patio because of our weather. I don't wanna (too difficult to cut). Love your blue star!

I'm with you too. Especially since I am about to own TWO houses (this dang one won't sell). We were just out shopping for fabrics today for the curtains/valances and I headed straight for the bargain bins! I can't afford anything else.

I already had to replace my dresser when I found out it wouldn't fit. The new chest of drawers is out in the garage waiting for stain and polyurethane. I wonder how many other things we will need to buy. I have really been ignoring that part.

I'm sure my kids would agree we need your TV though. They think we are in the dark ages.

charliedawg, that's awesome! Congratulations on getting to this point, how exciting. You are so close. Like being in your ninth month of pregnancy. You don't think you could possibly be pregnant for one more day, but you know you have 4 weeks left!!!:-))

LOL! I know exactly how you feel. We were in that darn temp apartment for 8 months and couldn't buy a thing! Nothing! It was hard to do.

We bought the 19" version of your TV about a week after being in the house. We have a projector in the basement, so that's our "big" tv room. The great room tv will be small for casual viewing only.

Our last house had a tv the size of a refridgerator; It's nice to not have a shrine to the tv gods anymore. :)

I'm so happy for you that you will soon be in. It is fantastic! I'm waking up every morning before the sun just to walk around and stare at the walls. :)

By the way, My wife was having morning coffee on our back porch this week and a coyote came into the back yard. Neat.

LOL...I'm leaving all the electronics up to Dh but he is as giddy as you right now. I'm looking for barstools and kitchen tables. Not as glamorous, I know!

And we will be eating Mac and Cheese for at least a year! LOL

LOL! DH purchased a 42" Flat Screen a month before we even broke ground! Ground breaking was in May! "For the new house", he says. We're not even moving 'til late Aug./ early Sept...... Our other house still hasn't sold either so I'm working very hard for $$ for furniture & hopefully I'll be shopping soon too! Looking pretty bleak though.....

I am having the toughest time trying to convince my dh that we don't need to set up our new TV in the one bedroom that the four of us are living in. (in-laws basement spare room).

You should see this room, it's packed with stuff. It is jammed packed w/ everything that I, dh, 2 kids and one dog need and the last thing it needs is a bigscreen TV...I guess this is the downside of shopping early :) he is really grieving about it.

One of the things we did when we started this whole building process was budget in the toys we wanted for our new home. We made a big wish list of about $20,000 worth of items and prioritized them. As we upgraded the actual house we have deducted the $$ from the wish list that we were willing to sacrifice so now we're down to about $10,00 for our toys. Of course, we never even considered putting the TV on the chopping block.

LOL charliedawg! Your poor DH being deprived of his new toy, oh the shame of it all lol! We too have a budget of $20,000 but it looks like $5000 worth of landscaping will have to come out of that so I'm holding off on purchases for a couple weeks. I can't wait until I get to go though, and a big screen TV is definitely in the cards!

We've already started budgeting for our build, still 2 years away, so we're living with what we have for a looonnng time! To save money on moving, we're not bringing a lot of stuff w/ us when we do go, so there's no sense in buying anything major for now. Whatever is left after filling a 26' rental truck stays HERE! I just hope there's money left after the build, or I'll be hanging out in tragusa3's basement watching his projector!

For those being forced to wait it out before buying new toys (mosty the men): remind them that 6 months from now, the High Def TV's, DVD players, and sound systems will all have *more* features for *less* money. Feature sets are going up and prices are coming down. If they are forced to wait, then at least they can be happy knowing they'll get more for less.

I have an HDTV that's 1 year old, and already I would like to get rid of it so I can buy the the latest one, lol. Thankfully I have a little discipline. There is absolutely nothing wrong with my 1 year old TV.
