I'm sorry, I don't really have any ideas, but could you tell me how to swirl the paints in the ornaments? I posted something on Dec. 7 with the message Glass Ornaments. I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

You could make Reindeer Candycanes. You'd just need a piece of brown pipecleaner for antlers, wiggle eyes and a red pompom.

Or make playdough ornaments. However I don't know what you'd do with them when the kids go to leave, as they would still be soft (takes about 24hrs to dry). But here's the way I'm doing them with my special needs students. One cup of flour, 1/2 cup of salt and 1/3cup of colored water (use red or green food coloring or leave it plain for a white ornament) Combine is a freezer bag and have the children kneed the bag until everything is well combined. Roll out a handful and use cookie cutters to cut out Holiday shapes. Use a straw to poke a whole in the top. Use a piece of yarn or ribbon to hang the ornament up on the tree.

When my nieces were that age we would make ornaments using styrofoam balls, bells and circles.

I would put many shapes of sequins in a bowl and another bowl with sequin pins (if supervised). Smaller children can also use glue. I would also have different sizes of ribbon and beads.

The kids would decorate the ornaments and stick a ribbon in the top with some glue and a pin. Sometimes they would paint the ornaments first before applying the sequins.

They loved these decorations and they really sparkle on the tree and every year since then they ask if they can make them again.
