Windows Vista Recovery is a fake computer analysis and optimization program that displays fake information in order to scare you into believing that there is an issue with your computer. Windows Vista Recovery is installed via Trojans that display false error messages and security warnings on the infected computer. These messages will state that there is something wrong with your computer's hard drive and then suggests that you download and install a program that can fix the problem. When you click on of these alerts, Windows Vista Recovery will automatically be downloaded and installed onto your computer. Once installed, Windows Vista Recovery will be configured to start automatically when you login to Windows. Once started, it will display numerous error messages when you attempt to launch programs or delete files. Windows Vista Recovery will then prompt you to scan your computer, which will then find a variety of errors that it states it cannot fix until you purchase the program. When you use the so-called defragment tool it will state that it needs to run in Safe Mode and then show a fake Safe Mode background that pretends to defrag your computer. As this program is a scam do not be scared into purchasing the program when you see its alerts. To further make it seem like your computer is not operating correctly, Windows Vista Recovery will also make it so that certain folders on your computer display no contents. When opening these folders, such as C:\Windows\System32\ or various drive letters, instead of seeing the normal list of files it will instead display a different folder's contents or make it appear as if the folder is empty. This is done to make it seem like there is corruption on your hard drive that is causing your files to not be displayed. You should follow the instructions in the link provided.. I would not suggest attempting to remove this yourself.. Here is a link that might be useful: Malware help!

A fax doesn't always have to be set to receive and a dedicated line is not REQUIRED, however if you have need to receive faxes 24/7 and not be there to attend to it if you use the phone line for other things, then a dedicated line is more important. If you simply need to send and/or receive a fax on occasion, then your current line will work. You could even use fax software on your computer to fax. This was my preferred method when I'd prepare letters, contracts, reports, etc on the computer, then fax it out of the computer and receive faxes into the computer and use my printer to print them out rather than use the thermal paper that many faxes use or an inkjet, etc. Once I started needing to fax other peoples' forms that needed to be filled in and the like I bought a cheap standalone fax machine to send them (rather than scan them into the computer and fax it out of the PC and still receive them on the computer. There's also email to fax and fax to email services available. For a while I had a "fax number" and then it converted the fax to an email and emailed it to me. I did a few sending faxes over the internet too. For the unit. The combination units, called 4in1 when it has fax, scan, print and copy capability (a 3in1 doesn't have the fax ability) and they can be a flatbed scanner or a sheetfed scanner (similar to a conventional fax machine. Sheetfed are handier if you send multiple pages regularly. This is why I bought a fax machine (new for about $16) when I had to send multiple pages. The units normally will have a built in phone so you can use it as a regular phone - thus eliminating the plug/unplug all the time. There's a setting to sense fax receiving and it can be off and if you hear the fax tone, just hit receive and it'll receive the fax. Or you can set the fax to pick up after, say 5 rings as long as a voicemail or answering machine doesn't pick it up. There's machines and software that will sense whether it's a voice call or fax and adjust accordingly. If it hears the tone it'll work like a fax and receive it. If it doesn't get the fax tone it'll work like a voicemail/answering machine. There's a number of options, depending on need and budget.

Hi ... using my wife's call sign. I am in the process of digitizing my slides and will eventually digitize a boat load of my father-in-law's (60+ years worth). I did some research and found that, as mentioned, scanners will do the job, but they're very slow. So, if you're digitizing a few rolls of slides, they'll work fine. But, it's probably takes too much time if we're talking about hundreds or thousands of slides. I have a DSLR, a Nikon D80, and some old slide copying equipment ... a Nikon PB-5 bellows and a Nikon PS-5 slide copier. I attached to this set up a Nikon 28-85mm zoom lens, set at 85mm. With this set up, I can take a digital image of a 35mm slide without cropping (see the picture in the link). You need to use a lens longer than 50mm to avoid the APS-C sensor cropping. My 85mm may not be ideal (a Nikon 105mm Micro/Macro is probably better), but it's what I have available. So, how's this work? Images are OK, not as sharp as the original slide but acceptable. Speed is outstanding. If you don't need to alter the exposure, it's a matter of popping in one slide, hit the trigger, pop in the next. I can digitize a 36-exposure roll in about 15 minutes. I also understand you can use a macro lens (attached directly to the camera body ... no bellows) along with a extension rings in front of the lens, attached to a slide copy holder. I have copied just a few black and white photos on a good color copier at the stationary store. For about $1.00 plus you can get an 81/2 by 11 inch piece of paper run off and depending if you want it to be the consistency of a photo(shiny) it is a little more. Sometimes I think the color copies of photos that I have run off are better than the originals. I also cheat and have color copies of my scrapbook pages run off so that the grandparents canhave their own scrapbook pages. There is a little difference in colors sometimes but for the most part for $1.58, I could not get reprints, more stickers, paper, and my time to equal that. REspond backif you need more info.
