Thank you, Sherry, for asking this question. I had, of course, seen the green lines, but I had assumed it was some new and special kind of link, and I have just bypassed it, not being in the mood for links (at least, until I get DSL). Now that I know it is advertising, I do find it objectionable, for this reason: It is inserted into a post written by someone who has NOT requested, or even been asked, to have advertising incorporated into his/her post. At least, that is how it seems to work, since nobody seemed to really know about it. This is not right. It is also deceptive. Of course, advertising is deceptive by nature, and I should know, having worked in that world for most of my working life - nonetheless, I feel this oversteps the mark. I know that GardenWeb needs advertisers to provide the funding for this forum that we all love, but I feel that we are already putting up with a certain amount of it, e.g., the annoying window-shade ad at the top of the page. I'll put up with that, but I would not like having the green lines inserted in a post that I have written. Laura

Good question! I've always wondered about annoying ads. It turns me off to the advertiser. Whereas low key, context sensitive ads are useful enough that I tend to notice and pay attention to them. When the ads are so annoying that people find ways to get rid of all advertising I don't know how that benefits the advertisers. Pickle, interesting about the Firefox barf. It adheres best to the international conventions and standards, so I wonder if it's MS or Apple or some other big honcho's ware that those sites are constructed for. BTW, I've found that if a page is taking too long to load, it will usually come right up if I back arrow then front arrow. I don't know if it's hanging up on the advertisers or if it's something on my own system, but it works.

I love it! It is absolutely adorable! I can't wait to send the link to some friends to see! They will love it too! :) ETA: I was reading some comments this morning and I find it odd that someone said it looked dirty because when I showed it to my husband, he proclaimed that it looked "sanitary". WOW, two totally differing views of the same kitchen. I say it looks great and I agree that a fancy new counter(stone) would not look right and would make the rest of the kitchen look like it needed to be replaced.
