At least most canned tomatoes are actually ripe and have flavor...unlike many (very many) store bought tomatoes, even paste tomatoes. I'm not a fan of how variable in taste canned tomatoes can be depending on when they canned them and what fields they came from. Some brand's tomatoes taste totally different every few months because they're only buying what's on the market cheap rather than holding quality control over the type of tomato grown and it's conditions for growth. Cooking large batches of "general" tomato sauce and freezing them is awesome. You can add bulky/chunk additions to frozen blocks of sauce pretty easily when you reheat so you don't have to freeze mushy veggies into it. You can get silicon baking sheets/pans that hold 2-4+ person sized servings and freeze up blocks for the freezer. IMO, the key to a faster cooking tomato sauce from a fresh source starts with the tomato you pick for the job. If you choose a slicer tomato over a paste tomato it's going to take longer to cook...if you don't remove the seeds/gel it's going to take longer to cook. Compost if you can and you don't have to worry about wasting anything. The skins hurt nothing, but people generally leave those out because of the mouth-feel of a chunk of slimy tomato skin...it's harmless to the taste of the sauce, imo. The person suggesting throwing a thin/quick tomato sauce into a pan finished pasta is right on. There's a lot of gluten/flour thickening going on that will get your sauce to stick to the pasta itself as well as thickening the residual sauce surrounding the pasta.

I truly hope I do not offend you, or upset your sensibilities, but you did ask, so.......... Unlike humans, fish eat only to live and variety isn't important to them, only nutrition. As with any other wild animal that swims, flies, runs or crawls, what "tastes" best to them, and what they consider the best "treat", is what they evolved to eat and once an Oscar is large enough to prey on other other fish, it will do so, because that is what it evolved to eat. We evolved to eat virtually anything animal and unless downright poisonous; vegetable. Then, we learned to cook, and add other ingredients to basic foods, to make what we ate even tastier to our senses and the more sophisticted our societies and tastebuds became, the more variety we desired in our meals, but our pets don't, and never have. Brine shrimp are great for baby Oscars, because they replace the tiny inverts and insects it would eat in the wild, but at 7", yours wants grown-up food. Therefore, the ultimate "home made" food for it or most any large cichlid, is another well nourished, healthy fish it can swallow whole, and why so many cichlid breeders also keep Swordtails and/or Guppies, because breeding their own is safer than buying live feeders. While adult Oscars primarially eat other fish, as predators, they are also opportunists and given a newborn mouse, (AKA: "Pinkie") will glop it down with relish. Beef heart, while high in protein, is also deficient in most of the other nutrients your fish would get in the wild by swallowing other fish whole; scales, fins, bones, meat, organs, stomach and gut contents: all produce what the predator fish needs to grow and maintain it's own health, to allow it to sucessfully reproduce, fight off diseases, and escape other, even larger fish. If you aren't comfortable giving your Oscar it's best natural, live food and it's happy eating cichlid pellets, buy the highest quality brands, keep it sealed between feedings to maintain freshness, and you will keep your Oscar healthier than by offering "variety" in the form of treats that are not it's best, natural food. It needs TOTAL nutrition, and what is produced by the latest, computer controlled quality production facilities would be difficult if not impossible to reproduce in a home kitchen.

I feel for you that you didn’t get what you wanted. But there is no way that that was not obvious on the documentation. The good news is that Evercore is a better choice for long term durability and surviving wear and tear than a standard painted wood would be. Even had you chosen a painted wood, the center panel would be MDF. And the drawer fronts. The only change to the product between painted maple and Evercore is the actual door stiles and rails. HD order agreements are very very thorough. They have multi million dollar lawyers creating them, and all of that fine print. Home Depot project documentation folders have multiple forms with multiple places to indicate door style, color, material, and options selected. The print out of the order itself indicates these options on each and every line for each and every cabinet in the order. That is the descriptive order agreement itself that gets scanned to be paid for, and which has multiple places that require signatures. If the cabinet seller was new and failed to fill out the folder cover, or any of the required selection forms documentaion, the order print out would still have the product description on each cabinet line. Some orders go up to 40 pages of these descriptions, and have places to sign for the right of recision, the non refundable special order section, and the labor agreement. Then there’s the credit slip signing which uses verbiage that aligns with the sales agreement that all special order items are non refundable and signing indicates correctness of the order and the acceptance of those terms, plus the payment portion agreement. Evercore is a great option! Claim the serendipity of the moment and go ahead and install your kitchen and enjoy it!
