Miele 5000 series ovens

When will they be available in the US?????

There is a new series of compact ovens (60 cm / 24 inches) with larger internal dimensions than the 4000 series. The new oven has a water receptacle to inject steam into the oven for select programs such as roasting. It sounds like Miele has gone the next step. I'm wondering how long it will be til we can get them in the US. I think they are available now in the UK and Australia. Anyone know anything?????

I am interested in those also and I contacted Miele. They said they won't be available in the US till the fall. They will be sending me an email when they are available.

Hi greeneyedmsc ----that's interesting. I just talked to a sales rep at Ira Woods. He told me that Miele told him not til "early 2009". Of course he wants me to buy the 4000 series now. I do hope you will post or contact me directly if you get more information. From what I can see online the 5000 series looks like it would be worth waiting for. But I also know that they announce early to lock people in and then the actual products may not show up til much later. ( and we always did that at the company I worked for -- standard practice).

Congratulations, and good luck, with your kitchen renovation. I don’t have that exact same Miele, but I think the oven in our range should be pretty similar in most ways. One thing I have noticed is that many people complain about noise when the fans are running in their ovens, and our Miele is pretty quiet, something that was important to me. It also comes up to temperature very quickly, so I don’t have to turn on the oven for a long time beforehand when baking. Maybe someone else can give you more info on the Thermador, but it likes you have two good options.

Thanks @Kim G! I am disappointed, because I am running into a lot of glitches with my Miele order. I had ordered the CSO, along with the M series double ovens. I am not sure of the status of the CSO, but I was just informed that my double oven order was not processed on time, and Miele has now changed the look and the price of the ovens. They are $800 more and apparently look different. I’m not sure if the processing was a mistake on the end of the appliance store or Miele, But I placed my order two months ago, so not sure why I am affected by the product line change that I believe just happened very recently. Fingers crossed that the CSO will still be processed.

"the issue is that the kitchen is quite narrow and every inch counts - that's why i prefer the built-in style." The difference in depth between the countertop and, say, this Frigidaire FGIH3047VF is 3-4" including the handle. The SMEG SPR30UIMX adds even less, about 2". "the installation instructions are not clear" The installation instructions are clear. The installation instructions for other GE ovens (example) shows they can be installed under a counter.

I haven't seen when the US is getting them, but we have the new range in the showrooms right now in Australia....

I'm in love with the 90cm oven... at a touch over $10,000 yes, it's expensive - but there is just nothing else like it.

Please note this is my own opinion and not that of the company.. I've played with Gaggenau, Smeg etc and they have just been left behind with this new range..

The ovens are going to sell like crazy - the only thing that worries me from a service point of view is customers not cleaning the steam injection models appropriately.... that will be a nightmare in my opinion (could be wrong but too many customers pay so much for Miele but then treat the appliances like crap then expect we'll fix it)

Trying really hard not to sound like I'm selling haha.. Really - when they become available, go and check them out for yourself..

US market is usually 12-18 behind Australia with Miele rollouts.
