Firefox Question?

Reading the thread regarding Java, I followed the recommendation to check FireFox Error Console. It is filled with the following warnings:

Unknown Property '_height' Declaration dropped.

Unknown Property 'zoom' Declaration dropped.

Selector expected. Ruleset ignored due to bad sector.

Map key is not defined.

hbx strip is not defined.

TL is not defined.

There are pages and pages of these messages with no explanation.

Anyone have any idea what this means?

It means FireFox didn't understand the way a piece of a webpage was written. Instead, it displayed the parts of the page it could and ignored the instructions it didn't understand. And it entered a notation in the error log letting you know that it didn't understand something.

The Error Console just lets you access the error logs.
Unless you are a programmer working on FireFox,
the error logs would be virtually useless to you.

If you click Clear in the Error Console, they'll all go away until you start visiting more websites.

Normally Yahoo sets the browser page code width 100%, used to be 88%. That news front page is set a fixed width now 793 pixels. news.yahoo will show that width in anything a person might decide to view it with. Probably somebody screwed up because they could put advertising there,,, wasted space doesn't cost them anything but would think they would want to capitalize on it. ... maybe sidebar advertizements will fill it up later today.

that is NOT the same as easylist and easyprivacy. they are both right there at the link provided in zep's post. Here it is just scroll to the 2 yellow lines and on the far right click on the add to ABP to add it to your ad block plus EasyList Subscriptions to get the latest dev build of adblock plus which seems not to have those issues go to this link and select the one titled 00latest.xpi which should be the 3rd line Index of /devbuilds/adblockplus/ after installing it in your firefox you need to restart firefox to activate it then get the subscriptions. you should be able to install that one then once you have that adblock plus installed go to that link I gave you for the easylist and easyprivacy and add those to it.

mago this is what it says about dom inspector on the firefox site: DOM Inspector is a tool that can be used to inspect and edit the live DOM of any web document or XUL application. The DOM hierarchy can be navigated using a two-paned window that allows for a variety of different views on the document and all nodes within. Note: This add-on depends on binary changes to Firefox, and will not work with Firefox 2. I do not have it, never used it, so can not comment on it, if you do not use it then you can easily remove it. In fact I see you have ff 2 and it says that dom inspector does not work with ff 2??? There is a post some pages back that I had started called tips and tricks that thread has a lot of good info on ff ad ons and other useful stuff.

Thanks guys! Why do they put stuff like that to confuse and scare us poor illiterates?

Why can't computers act more like TV's or Radios? Just click the channel and the station appears. Change channels easily.

I wonder what it will be like 20 yrs from now?
