go to Edit, Preferences then Appearance. Click pictures and text.......hoping yours is now on 'text only'.

Did you check Tools/Options/Content and see if you removed the tick beside 'Load images automatically'?

Thanks both, I'll check both possibilities when I get back to that pc. I bet the one under "edit" is it my wife does some unintended "clicking" on things she has access too. I'll have to give some thought as to why I didn't see the path to "appearance' that is intuitive. As for "Content" and not on "automatic" I did look there but didn't see anything in that label that made me try it.

I'll let all know what I learn.

Back already,

Salena, think you're talking IE, not Firefox

Owbist, The load automatically was checked, I tested both checked (as it was) and unchecked...it made no difference.

To be more "graphic" (ha), the homepage is left justified with text that is active links, there is a little graphic/picture at the top and bottom. The page is also two or three pages in length due to everything being a left justified "newline".

Any more ideas? May have to reload Firefox..it is 2.0. That said I think I can get away with just running install and letting it write over what is already there, i.e., I don't have to uninstall, which I'd like to avoid.

Thanks.

Well now, if it is only your home page doing this perhaps they have the problem and not you. Are you suggesting this home page site is not normally left aligned? Give us a link if you like and we can tell you what we see.

Does it load correctly in IE?

Good questions, I made them myself. The HP http://www.att.net
works with IE on the subject computer, and works on another computer (the one I'm using) in the same house, and same data line (a dial-up).

Jerry

If I go to view, page style and check 'no style' I get text only. If I check 'basic style' it includes the graphics.

I see my working computer has basic page style checked, I'll go see what the troubled one has, thanks as I mention I'd guess it to be something my wife accidentally 'clicked', and that is one she can easily reach.

Nope, not the page style either.

I reloaded Firefox 2.0.0.1, and still have the same problem.
I wonder if there is a virus striking just Firefox.

Follow up on view:pagestyle:no or basic, I tried changing the style to "no style" on my working computer/Firefox, and got just the problem display I have on the problem computer, this makes me think go up (it's upstairs) and look again.

Got it.

I finally occurred to me CLEAR THE CACHE. Firefox now displays as desired. I think the "view" "page style" "basic style" was the fix as that is something my wife could have accidentally clicked when intending something else. Interesting, the cache carries over a reload of Firefox, which I also did, but the fetch from cache kept bringing up the old unwanded page style. Thanks all!!

Be sure to give wifey a big kiss along with the apology for for mistakenly thinking she messed up the confuser.
