I also like the "greenhouse" lit in the evening. I have one something like that but I never thought of putting the little "candles" in it. What a great idea!

I really like that unique bedspread Snowman. Do you know the little doll he's holding is same as one I found at the antique mall last year and put in my cloche?

He's made several pieces of furniture, and always enjoys looking at what others have made.
Your piece is really special...like Jaybird's Hutch.
If I'm not mistaken, I think the wood looks like Burl wood..it's beautiful.
My parents had a Bedroom set made of that.

I'm glad you were able to retreive some family pieces.
That clock is another beautiful piece.

The buffet looks gorgeous! It's such a shame that you had to bid on something of his grandmother's, but glad you got it!

Now you've posted another photo with something "woven" that's really caught my eye. It's the vine stars this time. lol! Are you a weaver too? or a "basket" lover? In any case, I want to make some of them now too. lol! I just harvested my first ever growth of basketry willow, so I have the perfect stuff to try to make some! :)

The buffet is outstanding and you were lucky to get it and keep it in the family. All your decorations are too sweet. I love the sheep and the print.

Lovely items and pictures Jeanne, you have just the right style to complement your antique pieces. Love the little fabric snowman, and the birds look so sweet on the little dish. Your greenhouse style lantern ties in so well with everything too. It all gives a very comfy, cozy feeling. TFS. Luvs

Thank you for your messages..can you believe we brought that buffet & table home (about 100 miles or so) ... 20 yrs. ago "tied" to the top of our old, old motorhome!!! Unbelievable! And when we got home, had to go get a neighbor to help us lift it off the top! Too funny (now)!

It is "burl walnut" (or curly according to a letter I keep inside the buffet from the wife of the man who built it. I wrote to her & sent a pic after we got it & I had re-finished it & she was so pleased! She sent me the history of the pc then.

Lovely look - nothing beats natural and antique together IMO! Did you make the bedspread snowman from an old chenille bedspread? He's very cute. Love the pic with the sheep and that so many of your treasures have family and emotional connections. Very pretty glowing evening pic!

luckygal...that snowman I bought at a craft show...with the intentions of making one for each of my daughters. Hah! You may know how that goes! I have a small amt. of old chenille bdsprd in my sewing center...and there it still sits along with lots of sewing projects. Don't know where time goes...when it's nice, I'm gardening & love our GJ forum!

The sheep print I fell in love with at a frame shop...I had some extra cash that I could spend on "me" ... so I did! Love to change out prints above the buffet and that is my winter one! Thanks for the comments. Jeanne S.

LOL Jeanne, I *totally* know how that goes! I've always wanted to find an old chenille bedspread to repurpose into crafty things. Have seen several pics online of ways others have used these vintage spreads.

One of my "to-do-sometime" projects is to enlarge a photograph of our little flock of sheep and have it framed. We had sheep for many years which is why I found yours so attractive.

Your Nativity is beautiful, and yes, I remember the ceramics classes of the 70's! Still have some things I made!

How wonderful these decorations are! I hope that one day i can also make these beautiful things.

Jeannee, I love your decorations, they are so warm and welcoming. How wonderful that your hubby made you that shelf, it makes it even more special, I so envy folks who have the talent to make things! The buffet is a real treasure, you are so fortunate to have so meaningful things in your home. My whole life was spent moving, I was a miliary brat and I was married to a military man, so collecting and having things was difficult, it was either lost, broken or just simply limited in owning things due to the weight limits in shipping when we moved. I am happy for your that you were able to get such a great treasure back into your family.
I hope your Christmas is peaceful and wonderful.
