I have several sets of speakers, but I really like my GE ultrasonix pro 2.0 speakers, they really have great sound and I paid very little for them. They have an individual volume knob on one speaker plus on off control and other controls. They are a 3 tier speaker so contain a nice bass speaker which means I do not have to have a separate subwoofer taking up space. I have more expensive speakers including, polk audio and other name brands but I tend to use those GE speakers most. They do have a plug(transformer) to plug into electric socket so they are self powered which is really best, then there is a cable that goes to the pc to connect them. This is them they are about 11" tall x 5" wide. Any speaker with 3 tiers should be good that way you will get good highs and mids and lows, but make sure it is not super light weight, a good speaker should have some weight to it, and they should have power on off plus a volume control at the very least on the speaker. Mine happen to be 16 watts, I would not go any lower than that but you can definitely go higher. I am assuming you are not wanting speakers to carry around with your laptop but to use on your desk? If you want true laptop speakers that are just plug into the usb port and are portable you might want to look at these I have heard good things about them and as you can see they have good reviews, they are a big pricy. Logitech V20 Notebook Speakers This is another really good option but is not as portable but very nice for laptops, it also includes a built in usb hub and it does have the 3 tiers, and is usb powered. I had posted a link to several on that same thread on computer help where the priceblink was. Having them on cellphone while out shopping can be helpful, some let you just scan the code on the product and it will pop up with the best prices in your area for the product. By open, I meant...open to opinions of others. By repeating the same comments, you imply that anyone who does something differently from what you do is wrong and or making a mistake. When an actual Chromebook owner spoke of having a positive experience, you responded by saying "I would never have one". I'm not sure why you find it necessary to be so contrary but that's YOU berating others. I think it's nice that you help others. I hope you continue to do so whether here or elsewhere, but that's not a license for being narrow minded with the advice you give.

Thanks for response technospeak. At what wattage or level does is the line considered no longer low voltage? For example if I get a small 2 channel amp to run the speakers, it would be considered low voltage....but if its a hi current hi wattage amp....does it then change to a need for a necessary depth? or is high voltage reserved for other types of equipment for power like landscape lighting or something else? You definitely exceeded my intelligence when you wrote about the boxes and blank plates and gaskets. I will need to google what a setup as you mentioned looks like. I can visuallize pvc running under ground but I'm unsure what the other entry into ground, boxes, and plates you mention. I currently have rock speakers but I'm now contemplating speakers to be mounted on my back fence. I think I no longer want equipment on the ground taking up walking area or on grass. I was thinking of converting to landscaping and so the rock speakers seemed like a good choice, but between growth of plants or if I never plant anything, speakers off the ground might be a better option for versatility in future changes. Unless I plant a tree in front of them lol. I intend to start digging this upcoming week. I had some medical issues which has caused a postponement of some things. I have to make sure I don't accidently cut into spectrum wires or att wires while I'm digging the trench. Thanks again technospeak. If you have some customer images or example of a final product or even the install process showing the pieces you mention, the conduit, boxes, etc... that would be greatly appreciated. I'll be googling as best i can what you said before I buy some pvc or anything else.
