I am in the process of remodeling a bathroom in my home and I have just replaced a hideous (mustard yellow) standard bath tub with a Hydro Systems The Lacey 66x32 (acrylic). The one I purchased is just a soaking tub with no jets and cost (including shipping) approximately $1800. I have not finished the bathroom, so the only use it has gotten is being filled for weight to help set the mortar base properly. Overall I love the look of The Lacey and the quality seems high to me. I had a plumber set the tub and he also remarked about the quality. I was deciding between it and the Kohler Archer due to size constraints, and chose the Lacey to meet time constraints (manufactured closer and could be delivered earlier). The only thing to note is that the slope of the tub is on the exterior (not made on the interior with a bottom that will be parallel to the floor) and requires additional mortar in the mortar bed. I love our Jason Internatinal Carrera Oval. The list price is high, but like a lot of items, they seem to be discounted. We installed it without the overflow, so it holds 22" of water. I was looking for a tub that would allow for water up over my shoulders - and finally found it! I also find it easy to step in and out since it is free standing. Previously we had a more shallow tub with a narrow deck surround. That was much more difficult to get in and out of. From Bathroom Had we not wanted a free-standing model, I'd have looked more seriously at the Kohler Underscore Cube. The literature claims a soaking depth of 27.5". It is 48" square. There are other tubs in the Underscore series; I don't know if they are as deep. Worth checking out, though.

Hi Polly, thank you for your kind words. I can't blame you for not using marble flooring, with all the concerns I've seen on this site, I went with all porcelain in my second bathroom, floor and shower walls. I wanted to do another soapstone sink and integrate it into a marble counter. It would have worked I think, but the SS remnant I had ended up not looking good with the marble. So I have an incomplete sink in our shop, that I need to finish. I might put it in the basement as a utility sink, or give it to my sister if she wants to remodel. I haven't given it much thought lately though. Regarding marble counter. I did do a marble counter in my second bathroom and used a Kohler under mounted sink called Verticyl. There are several shapes, and contemporary. here is an image, I have liked it. The marble is so pretty. The vanity is walnut in a frameless cabinet. It is hard to see in this pic. Swanstone supplies installation instructions. I don’t know what they are for installation on studs. Ours was over drywall and there had to be a gap between the drywall and the shower pan (cast iron). But other than that, no plastic or red guard.
