Capital Rangetop owners - What did u do for Ovens?
Comments (7)Tony and Scott - Thanks...I like the look of the Thermador. Breezygirl, If I go with the rangetop over the range, I am leaning toward the Wolf E dbl ovens plus the Wolf Steam Oven (I detest steaming on the rangetop). Would love the Gagg oven and steam oven but can't bring myself to spend that much with all the other appliances. The current SubZ and Wolf incentive takes some of the sting out it plus our builder claims I will be "delighted" with his builder discount on Wolf and SubZ. We shall see. Going to look at the Miele suite when I visit Trevor at the end of the month. Maybe I will go that way. Cheers, M...See MoreRangetop and wall oven, working within a certain budget...
Comments (17)We have an ICON single 30" wall oven. Like it very much. Only thing we had to do was adjust the temp on the oven which is covered in the instruction manual. Cooks nice. Preheats fairly quickly. Full extension roller racks. The pluses on it have far outweighed any negs on it. If I had to be picky the only down sides I've found on it were: Racks don't extend all the way back so there is adequate clearance for the fan module. This is good in that circulation is good and convection works well. The down side that a half sheet baking sheet fills the rack and has to be put sideways. Not really a big deal as we have a 36 DCS range that is cavernous when needed. Has great looking glass door. Down side is that it is open on the bottom between the layers of glass. This can allow dust in. Not been a major pain for us though. Touch controls. Great and really impress the guests. Down side is that if you are cold natured it can take a moment or you have to change fingers to get the input to take. Between the laminated plastic type push buttons on other ovens we looked at and the glass touch panel that this has though I'd still take this for just the class of it. Comments (13)I think a 48" range and a 36" rangetop plus double ovens have similar "gourmet kitchen" qualities, but the difference on whaich way you should go really depend on how you use them and how they would fit into a layout. I am tall and bake a lot. I knew I wanted double wall ovens even though I loved the look of a 48" range and did take some time to consider the possibility. The ovens of the ranges were so low for me that even having two didn't overcome that. Also, I like having the ovens clear when someone is at the cooktop and my layout keeps them close enough that cooking at both is still easy enough to do. If I were able to build and gain that extra floor in each direction, my dream might be a 48" rangetop plus double wall ovens. But that's just a dream. I'm actually very happy with what I have and can pull out a griddle when I need it....See MoreCapital Culinarian 36" Rangetop - Need recommendation ovens and hood
Comments (13)How do you use your oven? I would look at Electrolux as well. It has been recently redesigned so no feedback from the new ones yet but they have gone to dual fans/elements and the racks can be left in for cleaning. They seem to be going the right way. They might not have as many modes as Miele or Gagg but the ones they have are highly usable. They have varying fan speeds, slow for conv bake and high for convection roast. I prefer a slower speed for baking and higher for roasting. Not every oven has this. They do not have pure convection mode but it is not missed and I do a lot of baking. It is also the hardest mode to get right. People do seem very happy with Bosch as well. It was a favorite on this forum before the redesign. Miele and Gagg are more complex so a little bit more of a learning curve but would give more options. Wolf seems to have gone to one fan speed in the M series as they have gotten rid if the conv bake which is the mode I used when using convection. I don't know if it can be varied in some other way, maybe in the gourmet program. You can hear the difference in the fan speed, so if you see an oven live you can tell. I think BS has one speed and they have a quirky thing where you preheat the oven and when you add food you have to press start or the heat turns off. I don't think they have a delay start either. I would read the manuals of any you are seriously considering. You can learn a lot that way....See Moredeeageaux
