Needed: Christmas poem for small tree ornament from Bethlehem

I had the oppotunity to visit the Holy Land this year and purchased small crosses made of olive wood (tree ornaments). I would like to include them in my Christams cards this year, with a small poem about the cross coming from Bethlehem.

But I am terrible at poems, and can't even find a nice way to say what I want to say.

Some thoughts that I have: cross from Bethlehem...a piece of the Holy Land for your tree..a gift from the place of Christ's birth... (I am not very good at this!)

Any thoughs appreciated.

What precious gifts these will make. Wish I was good at coming up with poems but I'm not. However if you've read others poems on here, their are some very talented gals. I'm sure one of them could come up with just what your looking for if they have time.

I came up wit htis, although it s not quite right yet....

This tiny ornament
of olive wood I bought
in the town of Bethlehem
where the Child was sought.

This humble cross of wood and twine,
a gift to you from me;
A small reminder of our Lord
to hang upon your tree.

It is not quite right, but I am working on it. Still looking for improvements or suggestions.

Need ideas for an Ornament Tree

CC, I love your ideas, now that's what I'm talking about! I have a lot of small teapots on display (not miniature), so if I were to buy a miniature set, how would I hang them on the "branches? I could use tiny ribbon for the cups, but not sure about the plates. But...teapots would be more for kitchens so I think I want this in the LR because of the color of the tree. I especially like the clothespin idea. Not sure about the quotes, etc. I want the display to be visible without having to get next to it. Okay ladies, put your thinking caps on. What can I use the clothespins for which would fit with the LR decor? The decor is on the rustic, country side. Colors are the jewel tones, burgandy, green, some blues, brass, silver and copper. sheesharee, you have a wonderful start to your tree. I hope you can find more blue ornies this yr, I know last year there were some stunning ones at Walmart, but don't worry they will be back, it takes time to get a bunch together, that is what makes it fun. If you have a Garden Ridge store near you check there, they have a giant selection of ornies. You are right about your tree, it is full and it takes a bunch of ornies to do a tree. One reason I love silk flowers in a tree is because it helps fill in the empty spaces. Michaels had a wonderful sale last weekend on silks, definately check there if you want to add in more. Tulle netting is also a beautiful "stuffer" in a tree. I got this photo from a christmas group I found a long time ago. See how adding in flowers makes a great filler?

I used to decorate like a crazed person, inside and out. No doorway, window, tabletop, fence, railing etc was safe, haha. When my Mom died in my arms in 1998 it truly sucked the life out of me for a long time. I wasn't even going to decorate that year, my dear true friend who happens to be my SIL came over and MADE me put up some decorations. Each year got a little better. I think my resolution this year is go get my decorating down to 2 or 3 storage bins and the rest goes. My sister had over 35 huge plastic containers for just Christmas. She worked hard this summer and got it down to I think 10 or less. I really feel the urge to purge lately. lol
