Recent mode fetches the last 30 days of mail, regardless of whether it's been sent to another POP client already. In your POP client, replace 'username@gmail.com' in the Username field your POP client settings with 'recent:username@gmail.com'. Blackberry users will be signed in to recent mode automatically, without adding 'recent:'. Once you enable recent mode, please be sure to configure your POP client to leave messages on the server according to the instructions below: In Outlook, on the Advanced tab, check the box next to Leave a copy of messages on the server. In Outlook Express, on the Advanced tab, check the box next to Leave a copy of messages on server. In Apple Mail, on the Advanced tab, remove the check next to Remove copy from server after retrieving a message. In Thunderbird, on the Server Settings tab, check the box next to Leave messages on server.

There is a very effective program that you can download for free called "Spam-Aid", it will block ALL messages that are from anyone that is not listed in your address book.It is installed on your computer as a separate program and you can use it, or bypass it to check your email the usual way without anything being blocked. Just keep in mind when using Spam-Aid to check you mail, EVERYTHING is blocked and deleted at the server except for messages from those that are listed in your address book. It is very effective at what it does, I use it and am well pleased with it. I might add that the program does have a way for those whom you know that are not listed in your address book to get a messsage delivered to you by way of a "password" which they can obtain from a clue you give them in setting up the program. For some reason or other, you logged out or got logged out of Xmarks. So just enter your Xmarks password again and you should be good. Saved passwords are in Tools >> Options >> Security >> Saved Passwords . . . . and they are remembered there if you click on "Save" when entering a password. Just so you know, Firefox's password saving feature is not unbreakable. It's probably ok for home use but I wouldn't rely on it for anything super important on a laptop where there's a chance it could be stolen.
