I do not have an answer but rather an observation. There *s h o u l d* be a way. But it depends how complex or expensive the solution might be. For example, I notice that my desktop at work gets synchronized with my home PC so all folders always have the same content. Now granted, people at work might have done a lot of things without telling me that makes this seamless, piece-of-cake looking to me. Your two mail programs are accessing mail files located in each pc and that is what makes them be not in sync. If pc1 could access the mail file in pc2 instead of the mail file in pc2, that would help. Or if both could access the mail file by storing it on an external hard drive, maybe that would help. Let's see if one of the gurus here can give some advice. I have a new pc that could need this feature.

To start with, you can't just switch drives from one computer to another and expect it to boot to windows, unless the computers are the exact same make and model. You can put your C drive into the new computer and if you have a windows xp disc, do a repair install. If it asks for a product key, look on the case of the new computer for the sticker. If the new computer came with a HD and works, I'd just start transferring important data to it either with dvd or flash drives and eventually get it setup the way you like. The people that do a clean install are erasing the whole drive. Yes, a re-install will erase your entire C: drive, a repair install would leave your documents intact. You're going to need a windows xp disc to get started, also software needs to be installed to work, not just a simple transfer folders thing. You may be able to put your old C drive in the new computer, boot from the xp disc, go to the recovery console and fixboot or fixmbr and she may boot up. Don't know what windows genuine advantage or activation will do noticing your C drive has a different motherboard, video and ram.

Update: I just called her on the phone. She does not use Outlook. She uses something like ATT Yahoo for her email. When she goes into Programs....and tries to open Outlook Express, she gets some message that mentions there is an error....and goes on to talk about a POP server....and other things way over my head. I suggested that she call her provider for some help. It was over my head. I thank you raven and Bob for your messages. Larry
