Update: I just called her on the phone. She does not use Outlook. She uses something like ATT Yahoo for her email. When she goes into Programs....and tries to open Outlook Express, she gets some message that mentions there is an error....and goes on to talk about a POP server....and other things way over my head. I suggested that she call her provider for some help. It was over my head. I thank you raven and Bob for your messages. Larry

When you delete, or move messages, the space they had used remains until you compact. ***Never touch anything until the compacting is finished.*** See: www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#2 With SP2, automatic background compacting was removed due to problems it caused. Now you will get a prompt to compact after 100 OE closings, which you should do, and don't touch anything until it has finished. If you compact manually, at your convenience, this will also set the counter back to zero. For some reason or other, you logged out or got logged out of Xmarks. So just enter your Xmarks password again and you should be good. Saved passwords are in Tools >> Options >> Security >> Saved Passwords . . . . and they are remembered there if you click on "Save" when entering a password. Just so you know, Firefox's password saving feature is not unbreakable. It's probably ok for home use but I wouldn't rely on it for anything super important on a laptop where there's a chance it could be stolen.
