Windows Live Messenger.....

Hello,

When I have my Windows Live Messenger on offline , after afew minutes it goes to available.I want it to stay offline till I change it. Can you help me?

have you tried this?

1. Sign off - You get the option to sign in again. Below that there is a link that says "Sign in with a different account or change your online status"
2. Click on that link - You get a pop up window that with fill-in boxes for your email address and password. Below that you have the option to set your Status to Appear Offline
3. Sign in - Your status will show you "offline"

Or just right click and open messenger.
Choose tools from the menu bar, seclect Options.
Then on left pick start up... then on right uncheck 'Start with windows'

On the buddy list window, up toward the top is your name. If you click your name there it has options. One is appear offline if you might like to hide from people. Then if someone messages you just dont reply if you dont want to. Seems like a lot of people do use that as when I send an offline message thinking it'll be plopped on their desk at next boot, they instantly reply. My computers for years and years have always been online, all of the time - and people that know me know that. I'm not always sitting here, people understand that. Some will harrass me with the Nudge sound over and over hoping to attract my attention ;) But as long as I dont intantly reply to them they never know if I'm sitting here for sure or not. I have it set to always show online. When you block someone they can email you but not message you. Might have to move them out of the hotmail delete folder and mark as legit the first time though.. been awhile since I purposely blocked some girl that thought she knew me, yet we exchanged several emails trying to convincer her I wasnt in her seventh grade class. Her friend, that obviously disliked her, when she asked for the friends email addy she told her 'go bonkers.

MS has a support article on it ... about 1 yr old. Gardenweb link at bottom. but it also says The ISATAP adapter encapsulates IPv6 packets by using an IPv4 header. This functionality enables the client to transport IPv6 traffic over an IPv4 infrastructure. ....... I'd probably try rebuilding the Tcp/Ip stack...
