Kay: Oh my. I'll admit that I've done that myself. Thought I had uploaded to my computer, put the card back in and hit the format button to clear the card. My "what was I thinking" moment. I should clarify since my remark came across as offensive. Stainless findings attached to sterling handles became a good portion of the norm after WWII. They were quality pieces made that way by the leading silver makers & I wasn't trying to dis them. But within the past 20 years or so since Victorian silver has regained popularity (coinciding with the closing or moving of most of the American silver industry), all types of 'rare' pieces are popping up for the unsuspecting. Some with a one-size-fits-all, generic finding. It's my understanding that stainless wasn't used for knife blades until the 1920's & plated blades continued in use for many years. Therefore, if you find a supposedly rare, turn-of-the-century utensil with a stainless end, it probably isn't period, knives being the exception because the blades were meant to be replaced. If you like it, that's well & good but the piece isn't 100+ years old.

I think it was last Thursday while at work I tried to visit here and a good size Flash video delayed IE8 loading. I just left the site rather than get involved. When you connect here be vigilant of all the loading content by watching the connected/transferring report down on FF's Add-On bar. It is interesting how much ABP blocks. DA

You didn't say what type of internet connection/ set up you have. If you have a router behind a modem, the router is losing it's IP address for some reason. A hard restart will reset the IP address, i.e., pull the power cord for a minute or two. If you have a wireless router, be sure it's not trying to connect on a neighbors router, which if not encrypted may be strong enough for the computer to see it, but too weak for it to piggyback on. A neighbor of mine has a Mac that wants nothing more than to hitch a ride on my Airport Express, which isn't encrypted, as all it does is stream music. This is fine, unless the dog knocks the Airport out of the wall outlet and then she loses her internet connection. I'd also really like to use it to boost my encrypted wireless range (on a PC), but my Airport is also smitten with the neighbor's Mac. Once my neighbor gets back from vacation, I have to end this computer tryst (the neighbor is 83 and only has a computer because her kids/grandkids insist she use email, only after multiple attempts at "fixing" her DNS errors -computer not found-, did the true cause dawn on me). The previous responses all assumed you have dialup. If you have DSL or cable internet service, you have a separate issue, although still a connection issue.
