Poultice for carrara marble tile stains?

My French plumber quickly ascertained that I have no leak and the revolting brown staining around the bathtub on my carrara tiles is a matter of them not being watertight. He does not understand why they went dark brown though, but I think it may be lead in the water pipes in these old buildings in Paris. So I am now hoping that maybe I can get away with just replacing the offending tiles again, but this time trying to find someone here who is an actual tiler, and not a handyman who tiles.

But somewhere along the way in my research, I read something about a "poultice" ; H202 plus an inert carrier that pulls the stain out of the marble. Sounds too good to be true, even if I could find it in Paris.

Has anyone heard about this stuff? Is it worth me persuing?

Thanks for any input,

D
