Most of us have been through this decision! It really isn't so much the outside measurements as it is the inside layout that will help determine if the fridge is a good fit for you. The different brands really are not laid out the same. I took measurements and some dishes that I normally use in m fridge to check them out.... I would have purchased a fridge that would not have worked well for me if I hadn't. The GE CD has very shallow and narrow veggie drawers and did not hold a stalk of celery. Some of the others do not have an adjustable shelf to make room for very tall items. The deli drawers on some are split, making them very small. There are some with ice in the door and some with ice in the fridge compartment. Your smart to go looking, but take a few items with you and be sure to take your own measurements.

Buffalotina, we have the same frig as SVS128 does and the condensation problem that I still need to address. It does seem to go away sometimes even with some veggies in the drawer but I am noticing it is back again. Overall, we really like the frig for the many reasons shared on previous threads... the most important is the enclosed long cool zone drawer making it possible to more accurately control the humidity there. We are pretty good about using the door handles and thus the prints are right there and easy to wipe up. I would recommend getting the extended warranty because parts do not seem to be inexpensive on repairing any appliance these days. Also, on any frig you should purchase but especially this one, plug the frig in before the service people leave and if it is making any amount of loud noises, DO NOT LET THEM LEAVE because you have a bad frig. That is the problem we had and if our first delivery crew had been honest, well, it would have made our lives a lot easier. We have the Electrolux French Door no ice in the door model that ends in 36 with the Cool Zone drawer. Good Luck!

Refrigerator carcass/box depth is only part of the story when determining the depth of a refrigerator and its impact on an aisle. You need to measure the full depth - including: (1) Box + Doors + Handles (2) Amount of space you will have behind the refrigerator for air circulation, power outlet + plug, and water line (if you have a water spigot and/or an icemaker). From my experience, CDs need less recommended air circulation than standard depths. Check the refrigerator's specs for the minimum recommended - but be aware that your installation may need more space, depending on your setup (e.g., do you need more space for the plug or water line than is recommended in the specs?) As Lisa mentioned, you need to measure from the handles when determining the aisle width and you need to determine how busy that aisle will be. You also need to take into account what is in front of the refrigerator - is the Prep Zone in front of the refrigerator? the Cooking Zone? If the Prep or Cooking Zone is directly in front or it is in any way "shared" work space, you will need more space in that aisle. So, measure from the refrigerator's handles to the counter edge of an island/peninsula or whatever is in front of the refrigerator, determine what you will have directly across from the refrigerator, and determine how busy that aisle will be.

Hi lineterry, are you looking for it to have ice and water dispenser? Something to consider regarding noise level.. Modern refrigerators are louder than older ones. The new high efficiency compressors make a high pitched whine when operating and they operate about 90% of the time now. Instead of starting and stopping all the time they maintain a more level temperature and constantly run. Within this new level of sound expectations, however, some are better than others. I would stick with one of the premium brands (LG, GE Cafe/Profile, Samsung, Electrolux) based on sound. Personally I like the Electrolux cabinet depth line as an overall designwise. I know a couple of people commented above about issues, which they had plenty of in early versions. They have not had any significant issues with recent models since their whole ice maker and control board debacle. Second choice is the LG line. All feature dual evaporator technology and a 10 year compressor warranty. Decent space and build quality. Good luck!
