two links for Christmas Inspiration albums

That time of year to start planning or gathering ideas for Christmas. I'm not in any hurry to rush Thanksgiving myself, but some of you might want to go ahead and browse the albums. And don't forget I add to these albums fairly often so you might want to bookmark them.

The first is my Pinterest one for Christmas and Winter decor, most pix in it came from other Pinners.

Thanks Jim. My DH has surgery at the Az Heart Institute on Monday, to put a stint in to keep the aneurysm from rupturing. Prayers welcome!! My dad is doing good, no more wheelchair. Just using a walker now. I added most of your pictures to the Inspiration album and also some others I've recently found. Alex, love both of your mantels. I simplified mine this year, but hopefully next year I'll be able to go all out again. Looking forward to seeing what you decide to do this year...please post a pic! Dawn, your garland is really pretty!! The color combination is perfect and you have two of my favorite features...pine cones and birds. Where did you find the little birds? Would love to get my hands on a few of those (please don't tell me they're antique).

I'm so glad everyone is enjoying the album as much as I am. I never get tired of looking at photos and also getting ideas. I plan to leave the album up indefinitely, but do save any you might want into your albums or files too. That little village scene on the stacked plates was interesting especially. Then when I was unpacking my ornaments I came across a little box of 4 tiny houses in the Radko style that I'd picked up after last Xmas on sale. They are perfect size for one tier of the plates. I am thinking about using them there instead of on the tree now. hugs, Karen

Hi texasfern, thanks for the info - I know what you mean about heat. It's blistering here in summer too. The two bowls I am doing are also ceramic bisque fired. I got them at the thrift shop and just couldn't resist them since they were a nice big size of 15 inches in diameter. I didn't know what cone I could fire them to so I couldn't glaze them for fear they'd melt. So I decided to mosaic them. I should have used a plumb bob when I marked the center instead of just eyeballing it from above the rulers. I'll do better next time. I also work in ceramics - handbuilt pieces from slabs to Cone 10 thus far. You can see some of my work at the link and I have a ceramic blog under the same title. I took a ceramic bead class - now that's really fun, because beads are small and easy to deal with. Right now I am getting my kiln (skutt) connected up so I can do the ceramics at home instead of just at the college and a friend is building me a slab roller, but that is a whole other topic I guess. Do you seal your pieces after you grout them - particularly the birdbath? If so what do you use to seal them? How do they do holding water, does the grout stain or get any algae buildup with use outdoors? You've given me an idea about going to the tile store I used for remodeling my house (2 bathrooms and our living room) and seeing what they throw away. They threw away 4 pieces of slate when I did my living room right in the trash can - I wasn't doing mosaic then so I didn't even think about it. I could have done something really neat with all those pieces. And I have a wet saw - not sure how easy it would be to cut the pieces real small with a wet saw though - I might try it though. Well I have all my ingredients and tools set out to start grouting the turquoise bowl - so here goes. Wish me luck. Here is a link that might be useful: Blue Starr Gallery

Thank you, glad the albums are enjoyed. I never get enough of looking a pictures as you all know. :o)

Let me know please, if the 6 sub-album links come up ok on our Photobucket album. They should, but since the PB people changed everything....and NOT for the better...things are a royal pain there now!!! I hate it but am stuck with it. If you don't see the links in the sidebar of the main (Xmas tree) page, I can post the individual ones for you here.

Punk, I honestly don't know what I'm doing for Christmas. Last year I got rid of some things, and didn't do as much as I normally do. I was thinking this year will probably be the same. But a part of me keeps saying just to forget it and not decorate at all. :o( I'm still totally unable to get my decorating spirit back. Tho I do love having my Fall stuff out, I'm just sure how I feel about Christmas. I seem to go back and forth daily on it.

It really stinks losing my joy and not knowing how to get it back. I keep hoping all the photos will inspire me.
