Testing can be performed at your leisure at the link below. It's a good spot as it is off the beaten path and allows the member to work on a concern at his/her own pace. I have even seen where members will request no assistance at the time.

DA, I went to the Test Forum before I posted here. I didn't expect to get help there, only to see if I could actually post.

My problem:

Firefox is my default browser.

On January 10th, I found that my Web Site address was missing from My Page. Looking back in my postings I saw that it has not been there for quite a while, but I had no reason to check My Page, so wasn't aware that it had disappeared. Then I also noticed that my email address and the personal info was missing.

I contacted Tamara and she has been trying without success to correct all this, making matters worse, so that I haven't been able to even log in since then. When I try to log in, I see my email address in the user name box.

Tamara's latest suggestion was:

"When you click on the link to bring up this login page, does the email automatically show up in the box? If that's happening, it's because you have your browser set to auto-fill. You can go into your browser's internet options and clear saved history and cookies and restart your browser. Once you've done this, you should see a blank page when you reload the login page."

In FF I cleared history and cookies; no change. Didn't see anything re auto-fill.

So is this only a Firefox problem? If so how do I fix it?

Well when you then went to log in the next time, was the member name box empty, or have you logged off and then back on yet.

I did discover the other day that I wasn't able to post a clickable link on my Member Page, using HTML, but could use it fine on my Trade Page.

Is this the first you have been on in weeks? I was thinking I had seen you post a little recently at The KT.

I just tried to add a Personal URL, in my profile, and it went to some GW error code. I'm betting that no one can ADD a personal URL at this time.

I contacted GW a few days ago about not being able to make a clickable link on my Member Page, but have not heard anything back from them yet.

I was having problems logging in to my own thread. Since I use FF I decided to delete the info in the log in boxes and retype it. I got right in.

I guess in my attempt to be complete I didn't express myself properly. My intent was not to advise the Test Forum was not for help, but rather that it is an environment available for a member to work uninterrupted.

Sometimes members are unaware of many of the Forum's offerings presented in the information directly below the site banner, and below the body of threads. The request I recalled was published by a member assuring other members no help was required at the time while tests were being conducted.

Check the FF link below and see if it provides any information as to your concern.

Sue, after clearing history and cookies and restarting, the email address is still in the User Name box. My last post at KT was Jan. 11th, (the day I contacted Tamara) except for one on Jan 29th, when Tamara had given me a temporary password, which worked that one time.

I will say Tamara has tried to fix this, and we have exchanged emails back and forth, but it just got worser and worser! I'm sorry you haven't gotten a response. iVillage has some serious problems.

I'm not sure it's auto-fill that Tamara's referring to. When you go onto a new site that requires a password, Firefox will ask if you want it to remember the password for that site. If you tell it yes, then whenever you go to login to that site, the username/password is already filled in.

Tools/Options/Security
Click on 'saved passwords'. If gardenweb is there, delete it. You may have to shut down your browser after that (I don't know for sure). The next time you go to your login page, it should show blanks for username/password.

I don't know what happened or why, but now I can post using Firefox. Maybe Tamara changed something somewhere. Time will tell I guess.

Shirley, thanks for that suggestion. I didn't have to do that, but I will make note of it if I need it later.
