Hi, I have a Moen roman tub filler. Can I replace the tub filler (spout) with a deck mount hand shower? Thanks!

I believe you must have permanent access to the entire length of the hose as it is a flexible water line. (It beats pulling out the tub or going through a wall to replace a leaky hose.)

The hoses all seem to be about the same length. Keep in mind that the connection for the hose must remain accessible, as the hose will probably wear out at some time and need to be replaced. You might consider having the hose attach point about 3' above the tub rim and put hand shower mounts at both rim level and at shower head height. This should give you maximum flexibility.

Am about to start major reno on large bathroom. Love the look of the hidden hose in a deck-mount application, but am afraid of hand shower hose leaking or kinking behind the wall. Contractor already made a comment about making an access door on bedroom wall to get to the tub plumbing -- do not want to do because walls are plaster stucco. Appreciate pros and cons for deck-mount vs wall-mount application. I am not adverse to having the hose exposed. Decided on Hansgrohe/Axor products. Also, thoughts on chrome vs techniflex hose?
