More Cookies Keep Appearing-Need Help

I just installed AVG2012 today and now I have up to 4 tracking cookies appearing. I get alert messages from AVG Resident Shield Alert. These are the ones I have:

tracking Cookie Casalemedia

Tracking Cookie Casalemedia

Tracking Cookie Revsci

Then it says to select option how to deal with this.

1)add to exception 2) go to file

When I went to file, it took me to my documents but I didn't see this cookie thing.

I have never dealt with this so don't know what to do. Can anyone give me some help on how to get rid of these cookies?

maybe somebody that has AVG2012 will tell
But honestly, if you cant learn it.. i would suggest you look in their support files for the AVG uninstall tool.

Think Microcoft security essentials ... maybe super simple, if you have xp sp3 or newer

The fact that you have cookies has nothing to do with your AVG2012 install.

Four tracking cookies is nothing significant; I've sometimes collected over a hundred after surfing for several hours. Tracking cookies typically get planted on your computer every time you go on the Internet. They may be annoying and you might not like having them, but they don't damage your computer (unlike a virus). You can easily delete them from within your browser or have it done automatically every time you close your browser. You can also change the settings in most browsers so that they don't get set at all...although this may mean that some web pages don't load properly or completely.

If you want more help with this, you need to tell us what browser you are using.

Jessica and Ann, I was thrilled to be able to do more this year. While I had to take breaks from the standing tasks and did what ever I could sitting down, last year at Christmas I was exhausted after walking from the dining table to the buffet area, putting some food on my plate and walking back to my chair. The most dramatic improvements happened after mid-June. It wasn't until then that I began to feel so much more like myself. I am very thankful to everyone who has helped and encouraged me. We had a lovely Christmas day - about 18 of us and tons of food, Christmas soup with endive, chicken, tiny meatballs and Parmesan croutons, salads, Italian roast beef, manicotti with home made crepes, lasagna, sausage and meatballs in sauce. As long as the paper isn't messy (no dripped chocolate or gooey filling spilled on it), I just leave the same sheets on my cookie sheets through the holidays. It doesn't hurt anything at all to use and reuse. Just shake the crumbs into the trash can between uses. After all, you store your baked cookies at room temperature for days/weeks around the holidays, the paper is not going to 'spoil' if you do the same. Used to work in a very high end bakery. With the price of parchment, they used it until something spilled on it--often used sheets for many many times a day, for days.

Thank you everyone for wonderful ideas. I am leaning toward Cookie Cookie because it feels like “me“. A close second is Colorfun, which is close to my original thought, The Tinted Cookie, which was given thumbs down by DD, who said it sounded like the dough was tinted. Terriks, it is unlikely I’ll branch out; I’m not usually that interested in baking. I knew you all would not let me down!

My mother (with a family of 7, plus friends, grandparents, aunt...) used to bake scads of cookies for Christmas. We were spoiled for choice! Almond crescents, pecan balls, mini pecan tarts, date pinwheels, hermits, jam thumbprints, cut out sugar (with a touch of nutmeg), a cream cheese pastry dough filled with various fruits or nuts (can't remember the name). Sometimes she would make fudge. I am sure that I've forgotten a couple. Over the years I've made all of these, usually just 2 or 3 in small quantity (almost always including hermits) but as the DD grew up and I became prone to gaining too much weight in November and December, I am down to making just one small batch. This year it is gingerbread.

I have not used AVG for a long time but somewhere in there is a preference or options page where you can turn off having the warning pop up every time a cookie appears.

Cookies on a computer are akin to dishes in a kitchen, they are expected to be found there.

it is part of the new AVG, personally I moved away from AVG several years ago it just was not up to what it had been.
My advice would be to go with Microsoft Security Essentials or AVAST. They are both very good and will not hassle you.
If you want to keep AVG I would recommend going to their forums and asking for help there they would be able to instruct you better about it.

How did you remove what ever you had on their as an AV before you installed AVG? I would run app remover to make sure you are fully removing your AV programs.
