Thanks. Sorry I was rude but really, I'm not stupid & it's not simple. My new LG makes it (possibly) a little harder - format is different from all the Samsungs I've had for years - but I've tried all the above. There's not a "My Apps" list per se and Messenger is quite hidden. I did solve the problem though. I just uninstalled FB from my phone. Like I said, I don't need to be connected with everyone I know and every notification from everyone I know and everyone they know and.......well, you get it. I'll check FB when I'm home and only expect calls on my cell phone from family and friends I know and give my phone number to. Thanks again ! I appreciate it.

Do you actually USE Yahoo Messenger? If yes, I would uninstall whatever YM you have now and then make sure that you download and install the latest version directly from Yahoo. If no, then uninstall YM and forget about it. In any case, I would not do anything that a popup tells me to do. YMMV.
