lonely little Fall table.. and 2 new goodies

I was finishing packing Fall stuff tonight, and suddenly decided I wanted to do a centerpiece with my new iron Pheasant and iron Cornucopia. Then I added dishes and had myself a little table for one. LOL. Of course after I downloaded the photo I noticed I had no glass or silverware. Hey, its 11pm, and I'm an old blonde. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Last weekend I went to a small antique show with a friend,

and found this vintage Turkey S&P set. I was delighted as I'd wanted a set that was the Tom and a Hen.

Then I found this Pilgrim couple at Michaels, stuck way in the back. I was surprised to see them and

grabbed them right up of course.

table came out really nice...even w/o the flatware and glassware!!
I like how you put your vignette together. You balanced your cornucopia and pheasant beautifully with all the leaves, candles and gourds!!

Your vintage S&Ps were a great find..I had wanted a pair last year..then gave up and got newer ones. Also those two Pilgrims were 'Hiding Out' waiting for you..cause they knew you needed them!! Another great find..lucky gal.

Your table for one is beautiful Karen. IÂm really loving all the pheasants IÂve seen this year and I the leaf bowl you used on your plate is so pretty.

OA: Sure! The tag says, "The Old Pottery Company". The logo on the bottom of the pitcher says, "Create (sp) by Just Mugs, made in China". And, because she didn't get the entire price sticker off of it, I can see that she got it at TJ Maxx. I hope you can find one for your pretty kitchen! Karen, I like Jeanne's idea of a suspending it from a frame, too! As for my sweet furbaby, Chloe, she gets frightened of loud noises and, of all things, the beep from our cell phones and home phone, when they let us know we have a message or they're running out of battery power. I feel so badly for her when she gets frightened like this! Luvs, thank you! The 8 napkins will be fun to work with. DH and I never celebrate our actual b'days together, but we sure enjoy and appreciate our dual b'day/Super Bowl party every year! Kathleen, OMG, you misplaced your V'day box of decs? Hope it eventually turns up! Jeanne, I really like your idea of the frame! I'm going to try it today if I can make some time while working on the bills and paperwork here. Thank you! Jane, Yes, Emily's walking around giving DH & I the "teenage evil eye" and complaining that it's all our fault that she got this cold from us. She thankfully does it semi-nicely, though (LOL!). Chloe has eyes similar to a Pug, although they don't have the problems with them that Pugs do. They're called "ape-like eyes" in the dog books. As for our "triplet" angels, I think they're wonderful and was surprised and delighted to see yours in the cloche yesterday. What a great idea, BTW! I don't remember seeing them last year, but would love to. Do you have that pic to show us? It sounds darling . . . plus, I'm always interested in seeing more of your tablescapes! I felt very lucky to find mine. This was the one and only Valentine dec in the entire consignment shop the day I was there, and it's a BIG store! I'm hoping to check out the new antique (and "junque") mall down in town tomorrow if we don't get hit with another snowstorm tonight. Lynn

LOL, I adore you "No Pressure Jane"... you always make me smile with your nudges to set some tables. And I just bet you DO keep track of what I get, so you'll have even more ammunition for those nudges. You would remember my big birthday shopping spree last year, tho I didn't quite mow down any folks. Just found other ways to embarrass my DD in my excitement. But she and my sweet Jason 'n his wife gave me big gift cards this year too. (tho come to think of it, they didn't volunteer to take me. LOL). She gave me the Home Goods card, and the other card was a Visa so it went to Kirklands for BunZilla. Plus I still have some left to spend. Wooo Hooo. I sure was hoping to find a special (rabbit) table runner in Home Goods that I saw on a blog. It was soooo neat. If I can get to the regular Marshalls soon, maybe they will have it. Tho the one I saw was back East I think, and not sure if same stuff would be here. If any of you see this, would you please get it for me. I'll gladly pay whatever it cost plus the shipping. Thanks everyone - sure glad you enjoyed the ' virtual experience' even tho you were't there IRL to share it. Janet...I've always wanted to go to that 500+ YS. I read about it in a magazine and also on TV.. I always say I'm going to do it...but then when the the time comes around...there's always something else to do. That would be a fun experience for all of us to do together...Pick a state and then all meet there. Magpie...I've never stayed that long at this sale before...to witness the 'Free' experience!! There was so much to see this time, that we stayed longer than usual..and yes the free stuff was amazing. I was laughing over one man giving things away and saying to people - 'You're too slow'...You missed out on what the other person got'...too funny. Luvs..When I was selling things from my home, before I moved, a woman came towards the end of the sale, and asked what we were going to throw away! I couldn't believe she came especially for 'free stuff'! I guess, like your friend, people do that and I guess it pays off. As far as the free things being nice...as we were walking back to the car...people were taking things that were piled by the trash bins..and I saw lots of nice things there too...but just passed them up...too tired! jeanne...you know when I heard the word 'Please'..it actually made me feel better to take it for free. I did feel bad that people had to give it away..because they couldn't sell it.. OA..LOL...'Flea Mkt Heaven'...Love It I'll let you know when the next one is coming!! That would be a fun experience. However, I'd love to go the one Janet mentioned. Have you ever heard of that one? It's the 'Mother Of All TS' !! Candy...ARRRRG... back at ya!! Hope you look good in 'Green'. Thanks again everyone...Glad to keep them going if you don't mind them... (my therapy) Karen...Come On... YOU definitely can do it. I've only used a few pieces here and there (shop in your cabinets) like Lynn says..and you'll be surprised at what you'll find. See I said NO tablecloth. So no excuse there..Just grab a DH hanky (tea dye it)...lol and you've got a different look! LOLOL Lynn, glad you like those pumpkin bowls...I'm so sorry I couldn't get more..they only had two left! I have more fun with those little ducks...so many things to do with them. Tammy, I agree with Luvs..please come whenever you can, to chat and share with us. I'll be visiting your blog soon to check it out. I'm wishing a CTS for everyone soon. They are multplying pretty fast, even with this economy. Way to go Karen! You've got the "bug" now for sure. What a nice looking centerpiece you put together! That pheasant is gorgeous, and I love the leaves and all "spilling" out of the cornucopia. You had the perfect runner and candles too. Isn't it fun to "layer" the plates? I like that so much more than just using a matching set. I'm so thrilled you decided to do this, and you really do have lots of pretties to work with--this is just another fun way to "display" them so they can be enjoyed even more. ((((Big Hugs)) Way to go, Girl!

I found that runner on Etsy a few weeks ago. Its reversible for Christmas. Very dark green with tiny cardinals all over it. The 2 plates and leaf bowl were Dollar store purchases that I bought to play with. Then forgot I had them till I was packing stuff last night! LOL, and after looking at my photo again...THIS is why I don't do tablesettings! I mean who the heck forgets stuff like silverware and glasses??? Jeeez. I even have a charger that was to go under the orange plate. Oh well, my "meant to do" was really a lot better than my "did". My advice to y'all is do not set tables at 11pm, after a busy day. Especially if you don't have a clue. LOL.
I have to say I am quite pleased with my center-piece tho.

Back to working on Christmas decorations. My DH hauled about 20 bins out of the storeroom, I have another couple in the garage, and then a huge linen closet that is my "Christmas closet". I am feeling rather overwhelmed already and barely started. I may be repacking a lot this year, not sure my legs and back are going to hold up to get things done the way I want. Darn it. I'm feeling quite bummed actually, but I know when I drop in here my spirits will be automatically lifted.

To much fun? Never huh? It's beautiful. I also loved the way you curved your leaves with your display. I really like the table runner too. So glad you took the time to show off your table and goodies.

I know what you mean about being overwhelmed with all those totes. And to top it off, a closet full also. That's alot to go through and display. Maybe DIL would come over and help. Nothing worse than having a mind that says "go" and a body that says "whoa!"

I will appreciate what ever you can put up and post. Tis the season so put on some music like "Jingle Bell Rock" and start decorating when you feel like it. If you don't fell good enough sit back on the computer, add to your albums and enjoy everyone elses. You ladies amaze me with all your wonderful creations.

I need to go call a plumber again and backhoe operator and see if I can resolve a sewer issue today out at the parents place for renter. I think it's time for a new system next spring.

Can hardly wait to see all the pictures for Christmas now. I know I won't have enough time to look and post but will do the best I can.

And lucky you finding those little Pilgrims..

I am done with Fall..I started packing it all up ..my family just left with the 4 little ones...and I am exhausted.
But tomorrow is supposed to be around 50 and I want to get all the Fall put away and Let the Christmas begin!

Ah...Ms. Karen, that's beautiful. It doesn't need dishes. It would be perfect on a hall table or a little entryway. It doesn't matter what you forgot, you have the eye for it. Really lovely colors. Gorgeous pheasant!

What a clever runner with fall colors on one side and Christmas colors on the other! That is a great idea!!
I hope we will be seeing the Christmas side too!
