Built in beverage center for bar
Comments (2)I would do a regular fridge, but it's just a bar base and bar top. There isn't any room behind it for a fridge. Kind of hard to explain but it's kind of floating I guess you could say. That is why the beverage center seemed so appealing......See MoreGE Monogram Beverage Center
Comments (5)Thank you for the responses. I wanted the beverage center because we do a good bit of entertaining and also have many teenagers in and out of the house. Though I have a large SubZero fridge, I am always running out of room. My kitchen is large and I'm told that in this area that home buyers expect an exceptional kitchen. I spoke to the salesman over the weekend who suggested an under the counter or drawer refridgerator. He felt that the beverage centers would not get the drinks as cold as I would like them. Now I feel like I'm back to square one. Have you found that this is true?...See MoreShow me your beverage centers
Comments (7)I don't know if this will help. This is what we are doing. On Left: There will be an under counter refrigerator for beverages. Next to the fridge is a wine rack. Behind the "appliance garage" we will keep our opened wine du jour that doesn't need refrigeration, ice bucket, and other alcoholic drink accessories. Above behind glass doors will be stem ware and other drinking glasses. On Right: There will be an expresso/latte maker behind the appliance garage as well as coffee, scoop, etc. Above behind glass doors will be coffee mugs, expresso cups, tea cups, tea pots, etc. In the bank of drawers will be snacks. Between the cabinets is a garden sink to be used as an extra prep sink as well as beverage center sink. We garden a lot, so this 4' wide sink with console legs is very useful, especially since this beverage center/garden sink area is at the far end of our mudroom just outside the main kitchen. Above the sink are open shelves for pretty things, and useful things....See MoreMaking a desk area into a beverage center
Comments (13)Thank you dyhgarden - I think you're right about the tray. It will help everything to not float as much. If I do the open shelves, do you think about finding shelves that match the wine rack, or should I do another kind of shelving. Also your question about will I use the chalkboard is a good one! I don't think I would use it for list making, but I would use it as a changing "thought of the day" kind of thing. I can't decide if that is something I like or not. Angel 18432, my original intent was to paint the wall with chalkboard paint, but I was afraid it would be too dark. The wall I saw the wine rack on is a very dark gray, so maybe I need to think about painting it all with chalkboard paint....See Moreweedmeister
