yes you have to keep Ie it is part of windows and it is always best to have at least 2 browsers on the pc incase one should fail you always have an alternate. I use and love firefox, there are tons of great add-ons for it that make my life so much easier, try searching here on the forum for firefox and you will find a lot of info. Learn Firefox Ultimate List of Firefox 3 Tips and Tricks those should get you started, you will love the ease of use and the tabbed browsing. the add-ons I always suggest are adblock plus to prevent ads on pages and use the subscriptions on Ricks easylist page Adblock Plus 1.1.3 EasyList and EasyPrivacy after you have added adblock plus to your firefox and restarted it then go there and scroll down to the 2 yellow lines on the right it says add to ABP click on that for both to add to your adblock plus. I also like colored tabs ColorfulTabs 4.1 to help you surf safer and avoid dangerous sites WOT - Safe Browsing Tool 20091028 if you spend some time looking through the hundreds of add-ons you will find so many that make life easier.

Do you get the the save/run option? How much RAM do you have? The O/S, the Internet, along with your AV, firewall and whatever else you have running can be resource intensive. Not knowing what type of connection you are using, are you allowing enough time for the download .pdf to establish itself? This is particularly true if you are on a DUN. Manuals can take some time to establish. You might just have to be a little more patient. Have you tried a smaller .pdf document as a test? A page or two perhaps? DA

I haven't had adobe for years - pdf xchange had been doing all I needed it to do. But within the last week, I received (email attachments) documents I needed to print for DH, a state stream survey of 6 pages, and a map one page. The stream survey would print the last page, hang up on the other 5. I forwarded it to a friend at his office and it printed for him. I could read both attachments, couldn't print and properties didn't show any restrictions on reproducing them. The map would print, but in mini and nothing I could find to try would adjust the size which didn't show enough detail reduced to be helpful. I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling pdf xchange. Material was sent to me from same company, same computer as we've been receiving from for years. I downloaded free Adobe reader and had no problems printing the documents...Can't imagine what changed, have Win 7, IE10, updated Firefox as backup.

Ah, the memories of keying. :) Horticulture major; we used Bailey's Manual of Cultivated Plants---the book. (In fact, I still own my copy!) The professor liked to challenge me with plants uncommon to the gardens here and completely unfamiliar to me--like trollius. As someone who liked puzzles, it was great fun to discover the identity of a plant using keys. As a SoCal resident, I don't need winter reading, though. We are busy gardening!
