yes you have to keep Ie it is part of windows and it is always best to have at least 2 browsers on the pc incase one should fail you always have an alternate. I use and love firefox, there are tons of great add-ons for it that make my life so much easier, try searching here on the forum for firefox and you will find a lot of info. Learn Firefox Ultimate List of Firefox 3 Tips and Tricks those should get you started, you will love the ease of use and the tabbed browsing. the add-ons I always suggest are adblock plus to prevent ads on pages and use the subscriptions on Ricks easylist page Adblock Plus 1.1.3 EasyList and EasyPrivacy after you have added adblock plus to your firefox and restarted it then go there and scroll down to the 2 yellow lines on the right it says add to ABP click on that for both to add to your adblock plus. I also like colored tabs ColorfulTabs 4.1 to help you surf safer and avoid dangerous sites WOT - Safe Browsing Tool 20091028 if you spend some time looking through the hundreds of add-ons you will find so many that make life easier.

META tags will probably not do the job. Google and the like ignore them (and for good reason, I could type whatever I wanted in there whether my page was about it or not), instead their bots scan the actual content of the page. This puts flash sites at a disadvantage because the content cannot be read. In my opinion, flash is a useful tool in creating multimedia applications and presentations but it should NEVER have been used for web pages. It not only keeps the page from being indexed correctly in search engines, but keeps the pages from being able to be viewed by users with disabilities (those using aural, braille, or text based browsers). If you are just learning web design, I recommend getting a book on XHTML (eXtensible HTML) and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets). The w3c (Wolrd Wide Web Consortium) has listed these as the standards for web content and design respectively. By using CSS to describe ALL of your design parameters you allow greater access to the content of you site.

Ah, the memories of keying. :) Horticulture major; we used Bailey's Manual of Cultivated Plants---the book. (In fact, I still own my copy!) The professor liked to challenge me with plants uncommon to the gardens here and completely unfamiliar to me--like trollius. As someone who liked puzzles, it was great fun to discover the identity of a plant using keys. As a SoCal resident, I don't need winter reading, though. We are busy gardening!
