New P S instruction

Suppose to arrive tomorrow , Monday and just want some reassurance on how to go about it without screwing up. Old P S has been removed. First I remove all connections from the MOBO. Then connect only the 24 pin and 4 pin connectors to the MOBO. Now I do not know about the memory stick and my video card. I suppose I do not need the video card to read the BIOS, if I am that lucky. Now, after doing so, and I do not get any reaction from my MOBO, does it mean its a goner?
